Hoots

Simon Hootsworth is a peculiar individual, one that truly only happens once or twice every twelve or so broods. He is an intellectual, the sort to be found in a tweed jacket and a tie in the midst of massive libraries...and yet, he simultaneously proves that "absent-minded professor" can mean more than just wacky; it can also very well mean being born without a lick of common sense.

Social graces are...context dependent. He'll fit in with like-minded nerds but kick this fish out of a small pond and into the ocean and he'll choke on the saltwater before he makes friends with a soul. A Hoot - as his closest buds dub him - is best kept in small groups, where he can chitter on about interest after interest from sunset to sundown. This thrills the owl, as the scientists may say.

Other graces - including standards of decency, in certain contexts - are completely eschewed. Simon will dive for garbage if he believes he can find gold, even if nine of his colleagues are watching the dumpster he's eyeing. It doesn't matter - if it gets his neurons firing, he'll take the first path he thinks of to get there. No matter how destructive it may be.

And destructive it can get, as Simon has been rumored to be a little...reckless. Simple pleasures - like those of the flesh - transfix dear Hoot, and, given such a respite from his usual routine as an academic, he never fails to go to Bacchanalian heights when thrashing up the bedrooms. Or the lunchrooms. Or the bathrooms.

He's even been rumored to be behind a couple of dissapearances, with how wild he gets behind closed doors. Surely that couldn't be true, though, right?
