When he was but a mere Froakie, He and his family went on an outing, one that was tragically cut short when they were attacked by a fearsome Klefki. His parents fled for their lives, leaving poor Ibuki all alone. It was on that day that Ibuki swore vengeance on the wicked Fairy types that took away his family, and anyone else who dared to pick on the weak and defenseless.
"...Waaait a second, this sounds like a twisted version of Batman's backstory. ...And they were afraid of a friggin'
keychain?"
Yes, Ibuki's origin sounds... incredibly absurd, but it definitely happened. His parents are alive, but no one knows where they fled to. That 'evil' Klefki is still at large, but there's no telling if it truly has malicious intent, or if it was an accident or misunderstanding. Did he really scare off Ibuki's parents, or were they scared off by the Trevenant that was directly behind it? Nobody knows...
Still, despite his confusing life story, Ibuki's become quite the hero, striking silently from the shadows much like his species' namesake. Striking down the evils of Fairy-types, and fellow Dark-types that perpetuate their unfortunate "evil" stereotype. Though if one got close enough to him, they'd see he's actually quite kind, if a little silly despite his competence in battle. Sure, he might brood for a bit over what happened in the past, but he's not in any way "emo".
