Violet Rivinia
Violet Rivinia
Daniela
At just over six feet tall with wild hair, glowing eyes and an imposing physique, Violet stands out in almost any crowd she's in, even before you take into consideration that she's a wizard.
In most schools of thaumaturgy, there are three great Virtues that are taught when it comes to magical etiquette:
The
Virtue of Subtlety. Only show exactly as much magical power as any situation calls for. Better to not let potential enemies know what you're really capable of.
The
Virtue of Conservation. Never do with magic what could be done just as easily with one's own hands. Better to not expend unnecessary power, you never know when you might need it.
The
Virtue of Humility. Magic is a gift and a responsibility. A powerful tool for improving oneself and the world and shall not be treated as a toy.
Violet apparently did not attend any of those schools.
In other words, she's a showboat. Magic is something to be flaunted and any opportunity to bedazzle those around her with an impressive display of sorcerous aptitude is one that should and must be seized. After all, what good is witchcraft otherwise? The same goes for the spells themselves, of course. Why toss a simple fireball when one could instead have it take the form of a mighty phoenix divebombing the enemy? Why merely levitate an object with invisible, telekinetic force when one can instead manifest that power as swirling currents of eldritch wind? Many of her colleagues call her wasteful, but in her mind any magic that isn't at least equal parts performance and practicality isn't magic worth practicing in the first place.
Violet is a fixture in the less academic niches of the Riverton magical community.
