-THE START OF IT ALL-
Many would say to live within the kingdom of Etharia is to live within secure borders, behind a strong army, and beneath a fair king. Its capitol of Asorith was widely known for its holy and divine worship. One could pursue any profession they wished whether that be the manipulation and shaping of earthly metals, the bloom of colored inks upon an easel, the working of bare earth to birth forth its boon, or the exhilarating and intricate rush of the arcane. Indeed, for many ages the citizens of Etharia have existed within their safe haven, trusting those in power who have done their duties virtuously and honorably. Dangers from outside their boarders always seemed so far away with their strong soldiers and powerful war machines, but the dangers upon the land would compare to be small as the heavens themselves would soon spit forth horrors very few could bear to witness.

Every citizen in Ethara remembered where they were when the first mass of dark red clouds built in the sky, spilling forth a thick, vile black rain that would soak into the ground and seep into the waterways. At first they were just small occurrences just outside the borders of the kingdom, but as time went on stories began to ebb back to the ears within Ethara of horrible abominations suddenly roaming the lands. The very demons and monsters that were considered nothing but horror stories and myths were found to be inheriting the distant kingdoms that had once been allies to Ethara. The clouds that vomited forth the horrible rain would appear in random intervals and for equally random amounts of time. Sometimes a singular, massive storm would open up covering hundreds of miles of land, or small groups only managing to envelope a few acres of land would appear. However, regardless of the size, the effects of the black rain were felt long after it left. In the wake of a cloud, the land is left twisted and disfigured. Beautiful, pristine lakes brimming with life became horrible mires of evil corruption; wildlife and people would become any form of nightmarish and dangerous creature after either being soaked by the rain or drinking from a tainted water source. The rain eventually came to be called taint from the twisted effects it had on life. Creatures of lust, violence, gluttony, poison, and many more were reported. They could range from small and unassuming to massive and muscular.

At first solutions were few and ineffective, but a local alchemist and priest by the name of Zenor, residing within Asorith, had been studying the tainted liquid that fell from the heavens. Using what he learned, and combined with his divine power, he was able to create a form of magic capable of repelling the rainfall, but only upon land that wasnt already tainted. Unfortunately, the tainting rains gave little time for any major precautions to be done as they closed in on the city of Asorith. With quick action, the city itself, a majority of large farms, and a few lakes were able to be protected before the rains washed over. Saved from the rains, the church and king were able to concentrate on defending themselves from the corrupted abominations that now roamed the lands and defeated kingdoms. An answer to this came from the church in the form of specialized infantry. These infantry were initially gathered from the kingdom's own army, but initial results were less than stellar. No matter how well protected a soldier was they inevitably succumbed to corruption, robbing the kingdom of a valuable soldier. It was believed that one needed deeper divine protection built up over years and years of training in order to resist the taint. Eventually, candidates were recruited at a young age, being taught many forms of defending against the corrupt creatures as well as subjected to holy auras and energies. Finally, when they were of age, they were sent out to battle the corrupt forces. These new soldiers were much more successful and began to make headway. These new soldiers were given the moniker of Battle Brothers and Battle Sisters. Their practices in combat were refined to the individual's tastes ranging from sword and shield to archery to swift daggers, allowing for a diverse and flexible force.
People thought these holy warriors were invincible as they began to push back the taint, but little did they know that the warriors were merely protected from the effects of taint, not from mortality. This was compensated by providing holy armor and auras as well as access to master crafted weapons and seals.

Finally, we come to the young woman you see before you. She goes by the name of Inuri, and is a capable Battle Sister. At first, one would think a woman such as her to be mad wearing such attire, but there is much more to her than meets the eye. She is a faithful servant of the church, but a young one at that. She's only recently begun her service, and has had more close calls than she cares for. Regardless of that, she's a potent warrior, and has had many more victories to show for it. Inuri combines a potent mixture of deadly swordplay with powerful holy seals and auras.

Equipment
Ruby blade katana: Crafted with holy runes enchanted into the blade, this katana excels at piercing through corrupt armor and tainted hides alike. She's able to channel her energy through the pommel, making the blade sing with electricity and singe those it slashes and cuts.

Holy Seals: Blessed ink written upon pure parchment, these seals assist Inuri in dealing with corrupt beings by weakening their powers to a more level playing field.

Holy Aura:The main reason she wears such a light armament is due to the holy armored aura that surrounds her body. The clothing she wears was washed in holy water before being blessed and inscribed with runes of divine protection. This allows her to resist the horrible, corrupting taint that she deals with on a regular basis as well as most magical, and some physical forms of harm. Along with protecting her, she can mask her holy aura from other beings, allowing her to remain undetected if trying to hide.
