In a certain far-away region, two tribes lived. One of Humans that call themselves the Junon, and one of Centaurs. Despite some grievances, they managed centuries of relatively peaceful co-existence. But that was before the chieftain that finally decided to advocate the Junon's extinction, calling it their gods-given manifest destiny to claim the whole region because of their clear superiority as predators - each member capable of fitting several Humans in their bellies. It certainly did not help that the Junon's meat taste better than most game in the region.

Disadvantaged and on the defensive, the Junon fought using their vaunted archery as they could not possibly survive in close combat with the more massive Centaurs - but managed to force a stalemate that prolonged the war for generations.

Jubei's among the newest generation of archers that fill out the Junon's ranks, and frequently hunted for the enemy that so dearly desire all Humans to be reduced to fodder for their great appetites once and for all. Up to now through various means he has managed to kill several, but just the same has seen many friends end up weighing down a hungry Centaur's gut.

Though successful in numerous battles, it was only a matter of time before he was stricken with bad luck, in his case during a fight along the outer border of the region and was separated from his unit... during which he for all his skill ended up quite lost.

So now Jubei has to make his own way, and hope to get back home. But the world is a dangerous place, especially for someone by their lonesome.

Very androgynous of build, with hip-length black hair separated into three lengths of strands, and hauntingly blue eyes that match his attire, there is no ignoring that his appearance is fairly deceptive. Jubei isn't particularly strong, but what he lacks in raw power he makes up for speed and agility.

Jubei is at his core a soft-to-hard-spoken and rather mild-to-rough-mannered (depending on the situation) young man with depths of playfulness. But a life thrown through the wringer has made him a pragmatic person with the will to get his hands dirty if need be, up and to the killing and consumption of others - preferably the latter as the stockpiling of nutrients can be vital for long journeys fraught with dangers. An army marches on its belly after all.

Jubei is a skillful young man. Competent in archery, traps, and tracking. He is also a fairly capable predator, able to consume prey up to his own size. A dream of his has always been to eventually consume whole Centaurs, with the immobilization that may follow as he struggle to digest it all - Jubei doesn't know he is actually quite capable of this however.

One can't be wholly competent and capable without knowing one's limit however, so Jubei seeks to hone his skills and accumulate more in whichever opportunities presents themselves - whether it is self-taught, taught by others, or learned through improvization on techniques seen, theft of scrolls that tells on these, and the eating of bodies to learn whichever secret their flesh might contain.
