You see a female dragon that's three times your size, with deep purple scales and gold eyes. She smiles, but it doesn't reach her eyes. "So, you've come to see me. How convenient, I just got rid of my last guests."

*burp*

"See?" she asks you. "That was them. You should really get out of here before you join them."

The dragoness waits for a moment. After a little while, the smile drops off of her face. "Not going to leave, huh?" she asks. "Wonderful. I have a lurker."

She scowls at you for a moment, but this doesn't reach her eyes either. Throughout all of this, her eyes don't seem to have changed much. Finally, she clears her throat. "Well, I suppose you can stay, since my stomach is already full."

She motions to sit down, then gives you a moment to either comply or refuse. Eventually, though, she begins to speak. "I suppose you want to know what I am, given you sought me out. Very well, I'll humor you." She raises up her head.

"Believe it or not, I was born a human. My birth name is unimportant, but I was born long, long ago, back when the cities of Sumer were only groups of farmers coming together. I was a normal young girl, more or less, and I found plenty about my life to enjoy."

"Then, when I was seven, it happened. There were many more monsters back in that time, and one of them devoured me. I expired and was digested. Then, however, I came back to life, completely unharmed, right down to my clothes. To say my neighbors were surprised was an understatement: I was treated like a goddess."

"Not that I thought that was strange: I just went along with it. As I grew up, I later found that I had other powers, such as the ability to change shape, grow, shrink, split apart. Basically, if I put my mind to it, I could make myself into anything. Even the air you're breathing right now."

After a moment's pause to let you react, she continues. "Everything was great, but that changed around the time I turned seventy. Then my best friend died. While that was sad enough, I also realized that I was just as healthy as when I was a young woman. I even looked the part. At that point I realized that I would never die."

"The idea was exciting, but I remembered that I was the only immortal I knew. Thus, I started to travel, seeking out someone else like me. Eventually, I found another civilization sprouting up in the Americas, but I couldn't find someone like me. Nation after nation sprouted up over the years, and I kept searching, but I found nothing. Oh, I found other immortals, but they weren't like me. Eventually I just accepted that I might be the only one of my kind."

The dragoness frowns off into nothing, but then her scowl deepens, this time changing her eyes to match. "I've said enough," she tells you curtly. "You can leave now. Be fast, or I'll crush you." The ground under you shudders. "Better hurry. Like the snakes I've come to adopt, I only grow with age, and I cover a lot of ground."

Plot Hooks:
Ancient Oracle: Kaliya has seen a great many things, and may even be willing to answer a question or two. Just make sure you can answer her challenges, or you might not get to enjoy your answer.
Moving Day: Throughout the ages, Kaliya's been all over the world. Sometimes she moves with a new love, sometimes she flees something stronger than herself, sometimes she just gets up and bored and looks for a more exciting address.
Hello, Friend: Kaliya's interests shift with the day sometimes, and you never know whom she might decide to descend on, or what she might have in store for them.
What's This: Even after six thousand years, Kaliya has no clue what she is or why she's the way that she is. Thus, if someone were to find any kind of clue, they would instantly have her attention.
Deal with a Dragon: Kaliya can do a lot of things with her shapeshifting, and she's sometimes in the mood to bargain. She could let you have a part of herself, as long as you can impress her. Be warned, she's had a long time to get creative...
