Hailing from Wela Volcano's Flame Tribe, Kashina is an aloof warrior. As per her tribe's tradition, she fights with great ferocity and recklessness in battle. Her strong sense of pride guides her belief that capture and retreat are fates worse than death.
She often comes across as curt, forgoing pleasantries in favor of getting straight to the point. Kashina doesn't actually dislike companionship, and is in fact extremely loyal to her friends, but she won't be won over by idle chatter. As such, you're not likely to simply walk up to her and talk her into being your friend. If you don't have a good reason for approaching, she's liable to become quite cross with you.
Considering herself at all times to be a representative for the Flame Tribe, she upholds a stoic facade in public, but lets her guard down privately with friends. Even then, she often has a hard time admitting she enjoys things such as sweet candies, for fear that she might appear childish.
She's far less shy about her dancing. The Flame Tribe believes that the blessings of ancestral spirits may be bestowed through dance, a belief ingrained deeply in Kashina's lifestyle. She dances with the flame-tipped bone in her hands, weaving trails of blue in the sky. The Flame Tribe's style of dance is far less elegant than most - many would even call it brutish or primitive - but it's not without a certain beauty. Some claim to see the faces of the departed in the flickering fires.
Most members of Kashina's tribe will hold a short ritual dance once every night, but she takes it further, dancing whenever she's otherwise idle, and occasionally in the midst of conversations. She even goes so far as to incorporate a certain subtle rhythm into her fighting style. Many people would probably find this silly, but Kashina doesn't seem to find any conflict between her stoic attitude and propensity to break into sporadic dancing.
On the subject of the bones adorning her body - no, they are not her mother's, as the rumor often claims. First of all, that skull looks nothing like hers. Secondly, the bone in her grip is way too huge to be her mom's femur. Instead, the Flame Tribe wields the bones of the strongest opponent they've killed in battle. Not only do the bones of larger creatures make for better weapons, but the belief goes that their powerful spirits linger on in the marow, granting extra strength in combat. In Kashina's case, her bones come from a Salamence she once hunted.
The Flame Tribe does not believe in taking prisoners, preferring to simply devour whatever remains of their enemies after a battle, caring not whether these remains are still alive. If Kashina considers somebody to be an enemy of the Flame Tribe (and not just a personal opponent), she'll do the same to them.
That aside, Kashina makes it a point to hone her skills by practice-hunting. She tends to pick out targets at random, stalking them for hours if need be before overpowering them. Once she's got her jaws wrapepd around their head, she'll consider herself victorious and
(usually) release them, explaining the "game" to her almost-prey. Of course, she never bothers to fill them in beforehand, as doing so would ruin the point of picking random individuals instead of sparring with her friends or something.
