Keaton Dawner is a rather laid-back squirrel, always happy to drum up a conversation and just shoot the breeze. Not much is known about his past, but he carries himself upright and calm. He appears very casual in his bluejeans and T-shirt, his fur is soft and smooth, but his hair is usually in some sort of disarray.

While he is polite, he is deathly fearful of predators and usually tries to avoid them and thus avoid being someone's meal. He was recently found by his younger siblings and couldnt be happier to find his real family.

When he was younger, he was out with his parents when they were attacked by a pack of wolves and his parents were eaten. He only survived because his mother shoved him under a nearby bush, not realizing that it was perched on the bank of a small creak. Keaton floated down with the current, fighting to stay alive until he was retrieved by a couple of 3-tailed foxes. Rather than devour him, the foxes took pity on the child and took him in and raised him as their own. Since he was too young to speak properly, they coundt understand his name and eventually renamed him "Keaton"

Keaton recently moved to Nexus Park and lives in an semi-undergound home beneath one of the last trees before the forest. He works for a parcel delivery service in town by day and though he could easily skip across the grass or through the forest to save time to and from work, he prefers to stick to the paths and walkways. He has been known to take shortcuts through the woods though if weather or time are against him.

Unknown to Keaton, a spell had been placed on him at an early age causing his body to reform if anything ever happens to kill him. The reformation usually happens just past midnight or just before dawn the next day and he reforms within a certain proximity to where he formerly expired. As such, most preds never realize he reforms and he himself has never realized how many times he has actually been caught and eaten in the past. It was his adopted parents that did this to help him live out a full life.
