Keeley grew up only a mile from the community college she now attends - her overly protective father wasn't ready to send the eighteen year old girl to the university several hours away. Keeley did wrangle a little freedom out of her father - he rented her an apartment above a candy store just on the other side of the park from the college and coffee shop.
His only condition was that she always walk around - never through - the park.
He had good reason to keep her away from there. As the city's chief of police, he knew far too well what kind of things happen in there. He was the one who made the call several years ago to stop sending his officers into the park at night... his office has not lost an officer since then. He spent eighteen years shielding his little girl from the scarier realities in their city. He has painted a worldview that has left her feeling safe and self-assured. It has also left her incredibly naive.
She is rather petite, barely five feet tall. She inherited her mother's figure - slender on top but just enough curve on the bottom to turn heads... not that she would notice. She tends to be easily distracted.
Keeley loves people. She loves fantasy, philosophy, and mythology. She loves painting and wearing bright colors... she doesn't own one white pair of socks. She loves cooking and baking and has a weakness for chocolates.
Her quirky nature has kept her from making too many real friends, but working in a coffee shop across the street from the park almost guarantees she will meet all kinds of new people this semester... and maybe tonight she'll finally take that shortcut through the park.
