When Kerena was little she was always chubby. She was made fun of constantly. The other kids would always called her things like 'Hamburger' or 'Bessie' or even do things like trip her, or dump their food in her lap at lunch and say "Oh sorry about that, oh well you want my food any don't you fatty?" She had no friends, that is until she hit puberty. Her body started to change rapidly. Her belly fat shrank away or moved to her thighs or breasts, she grew her hair out and best of all, unlike the other kids, she didn't even break out in pimples! She could have died she was so happy. All of this occurred the summer before she went back to school. When she returned every one stared at her. She was curious why but when people started crowding around her and trying to befriend her she couldn't believe it. Girls were asking for beauty tips, guys were asking for dates, one girl even asked if she'd want to go to her sleep over. She was so mad that she stood up in the middle of lunch (when most of them had flocked over to her) and shouted "You people make me sick! You've made fun of me for almost my whole life and now that I look like this you can just ask me to hang out with you and every thing will be okay? Forget it!" She stomped out of the cafeteria and never spoke to any of her class mates again. As far as she was concerned, people were jerks, they only want you for your looks, never for your personality or your smarts.
