While this fact is not something that Lucifer would ever admit, he was always his Father's favourite; he was the most beautiful, the most volatile, of all of the angels. Some theorise that Lucifer's being is part of what inspired God to create the humans. However, when Lucifer was made aware of their creation, he was furious. How could his Father create such horrible, disgusting creatures and expect that the angels bow to them instead of to their Father? It was unthinkable; a heinous crime which needed to be fixed.

Many of the angels weren't actually surprised that Lucifer was displeased with Humanity, but very few thought he would actually act against his Father. Many of them couldn't understand how he, one of the only four angels that had actually seen their Father's face, could be so furious, but several others shared his disdain (though some needed a bit more coaxing than others).

He led a revolt. He corrupted the "new baby" in what can only best be described as a temper tantrum. He got many angels to back him and agree to leave Heaven with him, positive that his Father would call him back and fix all of the wrongdoing that He had done...

But years passed. Finally, he was told by his older brother, Michael, that he would not be welcome back in heaven; that the gates were closed to him and the rest of the traitors. Lucifer was devastated, and so he took the first woman he could find and corrupted her soul; making it unworthy of the afterlife his Father created for the humans once they died.

That was when he was banished to hell and had the cage placed on him(As seen as the gold-bar vest he wears). It served as a means to keep him from freely roaming the earth as he pleased. He had to return to hell frequently, lest he be completely stripped of his power. The only way for him to grow stronger is for more souls to be damned to hell; and it wasn't as easy a task as one might think.

There was no "worship God or you will be condemned" rule. Hell was reserved for the worst; for people that had committed numerous sins without repentance. Murderers, rapists, abusers. Until Cain, there weren't any. He whispered murder into Cain's ears and made him the father of murder to assure he'd get the horrible souls he needed. They were all he was left with. While there are many of them, there weren't enough to sustain his power.

That was when he first introduced the prospects of "making deals." He would grant a person whatever it was they wished (with the general rule of thumb being that it had to be mortal power; nothing immortal or all-powerful), but in return, they lost the rights to their space in Heaven. They would be allowed to live for ten more years before he would come for them. There were many demons that he introduced to this prospect of business, while others were purely for destroying as much of humanity as possible.

While many demons use hell-hounds to retrieve souls when their ten years are up, Lucifer prefers to finish his deals himself...




Trivia:
•Lucifer is one of very few angels that is able to summon and expose his wings to everyone, as most others find the task too taxing/difficult to maintain for long periods of time.
•The gold vest he wears is actually unable to be removed and also serves as a means to prevent him from ever re-entering heaven (This was the only way that they could re-open Heaven's gates).
•Lucifer was the one to prematurely summon the four horsemen and mess up their abilities.
•He moonlights as a power-hub for witches.
•Contrary to popular belief, he burns cold, not hot.
•Unlike his siblings that fell with him, Lucifer did not convert into a demon. This means that one cannot damage or trap him with anti-demon weapons. He is the only fallen angel that can still rightfully use the title of "angel."
•Despite what churches and the Bible will have you believe, Lucifer does not hate earth. In fact, he thinks it's one of his Father's greatest creations. He just hates humans. They are imperfect and dirty and filthy.
