Konngara's theme!
Konngara, the mysterious yaksha... As a very young child, before she was even able to unlock the full potential of the Yin-Yang Orbs, Reimu Hakurei set out from her shrine through a pair of mysterious portals that had appeared there. Through one lay the realm of Makai, where the girl was forced eventually to confront the Angel of Death herself... but before that, the shrine maiden faced an even greater challenge...
The nuclear incident was not Reimu's first journey underground into the realm of Jigoku. Though it was a different region, the first portal Reimu entered to train herself in led her into hell, and after fighting many dangerous battles the girl came upon a lone shrine. Within, a single swordswoman... the true pinnacle of that art within the realm of Gensokyo.
Konngara is an oni, like Suika and Yuugi; the third deva under the mountain, in fact, though the fourth remains unknown. She is also rarely, if ever, drunk.

The swordswoman of course holds the same love of sake that her race shares, but in harmony with her disciplined nature, takes a more refined approach to the drink. Rather than drinking it like water as Yuugi might, Konngara is the sort to savor each sip, and has honed her mind to remain clear no matter what sort of influence might touch upon it. A refined woman, she is tolerant of others but does not hide her disdain from others. She is very much the devoted overseer of her realm, quietly and efficiently defending it from intruders who would do it harm... though lately she has grown tired of constantly having to raise her sword. Challenger after challenger heard of the great sword-arm of the four devas, and poured underground to duel... and as honor dictated, each one fell under her sword.
As she grew more and more tired of the constant killing, all but one of her opponents dying the grass at her feet crimson, the oni sought a way to end the flow... and as she finally found defeat at the hands of a child shrine maiden, she saw her opening. At her request, the yaksha was sealed away within her own shrine, awaiting a day she could emerge and live in peace... one she hopes she has at last done, when a certain girl at last came and cut away her seal...
Having been released, and the flow of challengers at least for now subsided, Konngara has returned to the Silent Shrine and the region of Jigoku she governs, taking up her place as deva under the mountain. She is fairly scornful of the other two remaining deva, referring to them usually as Chuckles and Giggles, but does give their prowess and Yuugi's responsibility their proper due. This is the general pattern for all her views of others. Konngara is refined and stubborn, focused on honing her sword skills even more and restoring the damage Reimu did to her realm above all. She does have a soft spot for one or two residents of Gensokyo, however... and a certain respect for the only one of her old challengers who did not dye her shining blade red...
(Please note that as there -is- no real canon profile for Konngara, a lot of this is interpretation and extrapolation. That Reimu fought her way down into Hell and found a yaksha named Konngara at the Silent Shrine is canonical; all else is constructed for this profile.)
