Back Story Kris is a shadow-born with the unique ability to walk in the sunlight. He can do this because a former Angel and lover named Natalie_the_Fallen gave him some of her light and took part of his darkness within herself. Her light shines dimly within his blue eyes and sometimes glows whenever he connects to anothers mind. This gift however comes with a price, the only way he can enter sunlight or any bright light for that matter, is by suppressing his powers and rendering himself mortal and weak.After their unholy union, Natalie was forver banished from heaven and Kris shunned by all other forces of darkness. He is now an outcast, neither good nor evil. He soon found Nexus and spends most his nights wandering the park or other various locations alone, constantly fighting his dark hunger. |
Personallity Kris is a very calm, collected, and polite individual. He may come off as nonchallant most of the time, as not many things surprise him and he can never truely die. This often makes him depressed as he feels that things will never change and he will never have anything to look forward to. When being persued by a worthy preditor, he is often more excited that frightened due to the change in pace. Though whenever he losses his powers due to exposure to bright light, he becomes mortal and thus feels more human emotions, even fear. As a preditor he is very calm and slow to advance, he likes taking his time and teasing his prey rather than simply devouring them without warning. He enjoys having fun with his food and playing with their head until he can no longer contain his hunger. |
Powers All of his powers derive from darkness. He uses the shadows around him to bend reality to his will. This allows him to change his form, bend and fade into darkness, teleport between any two shadows in the world by entering the void, and even change the form or size of others. He can also call upon the darkness within others, thus allowing him to control thoughts and emotions to his benefit. The light in his eyes allows him a better path to enter a persons mind, as he can relate with them more easily than most shadow-borns. His eyes glow a bright blue whenever he uses this ability. This is gift of insight is just another of many quirks he gained from his connection with Natalie. On top of his natural shadow based abilities, he is also affected by the lunar cycle. When the moon is full, he is weaker and sometimes even rendered mortal at random times during the full moon, though he still retains some control over the darkness. He is strongest during the new moon, if not invincable. It is during the new moon that he can block out most sources of light, though he has yet to learn how to summon a full eclipse of the sun. He can be slain by any means of light, since it turns him mortal and vulnerable to pain and death, but his shadow form will reform in the void and eventually he will find his way back. |

Appearance Like all shadow-borns, Kris can take any form he chooses. His appearance is simply a manifestation of how he wills himself to be. His prefered appearance is a young human male in his early 20's wearing black ropes and sandals. He always has dim blue eyes that glow whenever he tries connecting to another's mind. Since he is basically a shadow himself, he cast absolutely no shadows of his own and only bends the darkness from shadows cast from everything around him. He also leaves no lasting imprints on objects that he interacts with, meaning that he doesn't leave foot prints, hand prints, even broken blades of grass or twigs. This is due to the fact that he isn't completely solid, just appears to be. He actually glides across most surfaces, but chooses to look normal by pretending to walk. This same rule aplies to his internal organs, he has them because he chooses to, but they don't work, his heart doesn't beat, his blood doesn't pump, and he doesn't actually need to breathe, though he inhales for smell all the same. These rules change whenever he becomes mortal. When a source of bright light touches him, he becomes solid in whatever form he is currently assuming, and he functions like any normal being, which hurts him greatly as he is not used to feeling anything. |

What the heck is a shadow-born anyway? Shadow-born are the manifestation of everyones fears and dark desires, starting out as evil spirits called Nightmares (One of the eight Unclean creatures born from Lilith_the_Unclean and Archangel Samael). They spawn in the void and generally linger there feeding on people's nightmares until they are strong enough to leave the void and stalk the world during dark nights. All shadow-born can change shape, making them difficult to differ from other dark creatures. They bend darkness from any source they can to alter reality, usually in order to cause fear in humans in order to feed themselves. Some shadow-born can infect human's with their dark taint and plauge their minds with never ending nightmares. Most shadow-born are unable to enter bright sources of light and are banished back to the void whenever light touches them. Kris is the exception to that rule. The most powerful shadow-born can summon eclipse, but it never lasts very long. Shadow-born are naturally evil and most don't try to fight their dark urges, they enjoy spreading fear and despair. Because of this, they are often hunted down and destroyed by Guardian Angels in the realms of light whenever one is foolish enough to enter those domains. Now, very few remain. |

Davor was once a renowned paladin who fought the forces of darkness wherever he went, until a few centuries ago when he was defeated by Iasair_of_Flame while hunting for Lilith_the_Unclean. He died, but was resurrected as an Immortal by Ariel_the_Guardian to continue his war against the forces of darkness. Now he continues his hunt for Lilith, slaying any evil creatures that get in his way. He often clashes with Kris, believing that Kris somehow knows the location of Lilith due to being created from her. Davor does his best to blend in as a human, but carries a sword with him everywhere. He has the ability to cast lightning and can use it to alter his clothing and weapon, usually conjuring a heavy suit of armor and a battle hammer when he is in life threatening combat. Davor has a black flame tattoo on his left arm to signify his flaming demise at the hands of a fire demon. As a result, Davor is still very vulnerable to fire and fears it greatly. |
