Kua is born in a pretty poor family and his parents were quite young when they got him. His father died when Kua was young, and his mother was still very young. It was hard for her to find a full job with a kid to take care of, but she hang on and managed to raise him. However this situation made that the two were quite poor and moving form town to town in order for his mother to find a job. Finally she found a job in a town with a beach and Kua could finally have friends since he knew he would no longer move. This is the reason he's always looking for new friends.
Kua has never really been what we call a good student. He was always in the back of the classroom, chatting and playing with his classmates instead of working. He barely managed to keep his grades average. However he was good in sports, both making him popular and saving him from failing school.
In order to pay for his studies, being born in a pretty poor family, he had to found a part time job. For that reason, he's often trying to find new jobs, from babysitting to working in fast-foods. During summer however, he usually work as a safeguard on the beach. Being able to swim really fast and breath underwater, he's quite good at his job.

- Party on the beach: Whenever there is a party on a beach, you can be sure that Kua will be there.
