Labinya

Of all the civilized peoples of the world, few are so coveted as meals as the viera. A race of rabbit-featured humanoids, the viera have acquired quite a reputation over the years as the perfect prey. Perhaps it is the pungent scent they exude, or the supple flesh which lines their athletic forms. Even their natural agility lends itself to being stuffed inside of a predator; as the common saying goes, “there's always room for one more viera after supper!”

This unfortunate edibleness has caused the viera to become a secretive, reclusive people, dealing with outsiders only when absolutely necessary. Clans of the rabbit folk live in relative isolation, enjoying peaceful life in the forests or unclaimed plains away from more predatory folk. All viera are raised with the knowledge that they are viewed as prey by outsiders, and are taught how to avoid ending up on the dinner plate from an early age. Self defense and avoidance from predators is an integral part of a young viera's education, and it is constantly impressed upon them just how dangerous other species can be. Thankfully, the viera are not without their strengths. Naturally fleet of foot and adept at dodging the lunging attempts of more clumsy folk, viera have a reputation of being equally as difficult to catch as they are delicious.

Now, lets talk about Labinya. To understand her you must first digregard everything you've learned about viera thus far. She is a viera, of course, born and raised, but there has never been another viera quite like Labi. Her mindset was always different from her siblings – when they would practice fleeing from predators, Labi would be the one chasing them. During self defense practice she would always best her peers, pinning them with ease. And while the other children focused on the practical matters of country life, Labi would spend hours in quiet isolation, experimenting with magical energies that seemed so natural for her. She was able to ignite small fires with but a thought, and found herself drawn towards unlocking the full potential of these gifts. Her unusual abilities worried both her parents and the elders, and they urged her to be more like the other children.

One day, while Labi was still a girl of but 14 summers, her village was discovered by a wolf-clan scout. The lupine folk were a predatory race that her people knew and feared, and this event spelled disaster for their peaceful way of life. The alarm was raised but it seemed to be too late, as the scout had escaped and was well on her way back to her people with news of a veritable buffet. Whilst the elders talked and discussed abandoning their homes, Labi went after the wolfess alone. The scout, a veteran huntress herself, thought it quite good fortunate that a lone viera would be so foolish as to pursue her. Yet when she sought to ambush Labi she soon found that this viera fought with a tenacity and fierceness beyond any she had previously known. In the end, Labi returned to her people in triumph, the defeated wolfess stewing away in her bulging stomach.

After their initial shock wore off the elders proclaimed Labi a hero and savior of their people. But Labi regarded her friends and family differently now, having come to a new understanding of the world. She was neither the rabbit nor the wolf – she was the dragon, in spirit if not in flesh, and could no longer live amongst such people. She knew herself to be meant for far greater things than simple country life. And so, she bid her parents and siblings goodbye the very next day and set out on her own, heedless of the words of the elders. They reminded her that the way of their people was to survive together, and warned that she would not survive on her own. Thus far, she has proven them quite mistaken.

Labinya is an unusual sight wherever she goes. Her kind are a rarity, and she is keenly aware of the predatory glances that inevitably fall upon her. Yet most know that a viera traveling on her own must be capable of handling herself to some degree, else she would have been gobbled up by the first predator to cross her path. This is doubly true for Labi. She displays a confidence and surety in her own abilities that is rare even among predators. Her physique is impressive – five and a half feet of fit, toned bunnygirl with richly tanned skin and long flaxen hair. Her garments leave little to the imagination – as a sorceress she has no taste for armor, instead preffering a snug bikini-style halter top and bottoms. She never lost the athletic grace of her race, though she has has bolstered this with a careful regimen of strength training to keep herself in peak physical condition. And then there are her eyes. They burn with an amber radiance unknown to her kin, a sign of the draconic lineage she has inherited. Bold predators have been cowed by her gaze, and those who have not have often found the tables turned with surprising ease, meeting an unthinkable end within her trim stomach.
