A member of the Girlcollection. Liara is a fanchar based on the "Mass Effect" universe, and can appear in that canon, or in a generic Nexus one. Note: The standard setting of Liara is settled pre-Me1 when she had not met the Normandy crew. Different options are available, changing her history and personality a bit.

Dr. Liara T'Soni is an Asari scientist and archeologist and (in case of a later Mass Effect canon) was twice a member of Shepards crew on the Normandy while also working as information broker on Illium, and even becoming the infamous "Shadowbroker" later on. Asari are a species of human-looking, seemingly female aliens that mostly have humanoid features. The most distinctive differences are the blue to purple skin they have, and the unusual equivalent of 'hair. In the place of head hair, asari possess semi-flexible, cartilage based scalp crests in the same color as their skin. Asari age much slower than other species and can reach several hundred or even a millenium in age, and they are roughly regarded as adults when they turn 100.

Almost every single Asari has biotic powers, although the talent and potency varies. Biotics develop their abilities by being exposed to 'element zero', the unusual material that distorts and alters gravitational effects. By applying an electric current, element zero can increase the strength of gravity, or even revert the polarity, turning the normally attractive force into a repulsive force. By using a carefully designed, specifally arranged composition, this enables things such as artificial gravity, faster-than-light travel, modern gauss weapons, energy shields and more. Biotics can use such forces (in weaker amounts) to create small blasts of energy, shield themself, lift foes into the air, and push or pull objects.

Although Liara is a scientist instead of a fighter, she still has some powers and is a capable Biotic, exceeding the limits of normal humans. The Asari is a smart, intelligent, studious girl that is quite enthusiastic about her work, wanting to bring the mysteries of history into the light, even developing some personal theories. She has done excavations for over fifty years after studying at a renown university on the home planet of the asari, Thessia. Her favorite topic are the "Protheans", an extinct, very advanced spacefaring species which ruled over the galaxy roughly 50000 years ago before disappearing, leaving behind ruins and technological artifacs that today's species study and marvel about.

Despite her acomplishments and being over 100 years old, in the eyes of many members of her species she is barely adult and she has a hard time laying down her shy, naive attitude. As she stated herself one time, she has not made so many experiences with people, especially aliens. This leads to some awkyard situations as she has troubles understanding the motives and ways of thinking of foreign people, for example failing to recognize a joke and instead taking it literally. Liara is not asexual, although she is a bit reserved in those matters, and if she gets intimate, she typically does it with someone she knows and trusts.

She has a certain liking to enhance the experience with her biotics, though, and with a special asari technique, a mind melt. Two beings can fuse their essence and conciousness temporarily, sharing thoughs, memories and sensations, a very intimate and intriguing experience (even in not sexual means). Liara, like most Asari, has texturized, blue skin, roughly in a royal blue shade, while her "hair" has some light blue specks. She is very beautiful and attractive, with nicely but not overly developed feminine curves. She normally likes to wear practival, functional clothes, often in white shades with some blue here and there, the suit-like gear also working as protective armor in dire situations.

One other, lesser known aspect about the asari physiology is that they can consume large amounts of food by swallowing it down their stretchy, flexible throats in one go, the meal landing in their expandable stomachs to be efficiently digested. Liara is vore-capable, but she is not really fond of using this method and only does it in a case of emergency or unusual circumstances.
