Lightfeathers

Story:

Lightfeathers was born as a quite regular gryphon, hatching of his egg in a summer morning. In the following year, the young gryphon learnt everything he was supposed to know about the world, as far as his species was concerned. How to be a proud force of the nature, how to hunt, how to consider other species... Though this last point was rather easy to assimilate, since it globally consisted in feeling superior to them. And today, years after leaving the familial nest, this education is still present in his mind... with maybe a quite personal application.

The young gryphon is not only a skilled hunter. He also takes a sadistic pleasure in teasing, toying, and mentally torturing his prey before he eats it. Nothing brings him more pleasure than shoving a terrified victim into his beak, swallowing it slowly, and sending it where food is supposed to go. When he finally gets a living guest trapped inside of his powerful body, Lightfeathers never wastes a second of it. He enjoys feeling the shape of his prey bulging his belly, pawing at it to increase the distress of his catch. He loves explaining how his mighty body is going to work and consume... terrifying bird, isn't that? Well, the horror story ends here...

Maintaining this reputation of a fierce and deadly creature amuses him. Truth is, this attitude of merciless predator is a role he loves to play. In fact, he played this role for so long that he rarely drops it, deeply convinced that this is how a proper gryphon should behave. So, what difference does it make between him and a real sadistic creature, if he always acts like a cruel predator? The answer is a bit shameful for a gryphon: his soft heart. He doesn't like killing, or physically hurting a sentient creature. He would always deny it, to maintain his credibility as a predator, even blaming a "bad quality that makes it unworth to be his food" when he finally lets his prey out, perfectly unharmed. Only those who really saw the gentle creature behind the mask know that is diet... is mainly composed of food. Or dead meat he finds, when he's lucky enough.

Personality:

When you have to deal with Lightfeathers, there are two possibilities, two face he could show, depending on your history with him.
To those he doesn't know, and whom don't know him yet, he will appear just as horrible as described earlier. Arrogant, sometimes even a bit despising, he will generally try to make a "good" first impression. His goal will be either to bring fear to the weaker, or to inspire respect to the stronger. To creatures he feels some respect for though, either because he likes the way they look or because they are friends he feels comfortable with, He might show another face.

Fun loving despite an unchanged, mischievous stare, the gryphon could almost make a good friend. Thoughtful when it is the least expected, still talking in a despiteful way but with grins that reveal a fake provocation, threatening to eat his friends but not trying without their agreement, it can be hard in the beginning to figure out if he really considers anyone as more than an edible toy. But once you get over his strange humor, you'll find out that this gryphon can be the most loyal creature on earth. He just considers it as a mark of respect to keep teasing a friend. After all, it is an honor he makes to his friends... to allow them close to him.

Vore-wise, Lightfeathers also has a personal conception. He is, of course, mainly a predator. Hunting and swallowing other creatures whole and alive is a source of amusement and pleasure. First, because it always represents a good challenge for a predator of his stature, a challenge he rarely loses. He can stretch more than one could think, and he's not afraid to prove his superiority by guzzling preys almost as big as he is. Contemplating his swollen belly, having another creature trapped in there at his mercy, fills him with pride. However, this gryphon doesn't only enjoy having a special guest. Over the years, he also came to enjoy the other side of the foodchain as well.

Self-confident, thinking of himself as a regal being, he surprisingly doesn't feel offended or scared when another creature tries to prey on him. To him, it feels more like appreciation of his many qualities. In his mind, a predator swallowing him, if done the right way, only means that this inferior creature wants to honor him, to welcome an important guest into its body. However, Lightfeathers is not a fool... If he senses hostility, or bad intentions, the gryphon will fight fiercely. He's not an easy meal, he's a proud gryphon who only allows some creatures to appreciate him. And that makes a big difference to him.

looking for/ideas of scenario

rodent partner : as a big bird of prey, Lightfeathers has a particular taste for rodents, especially mice and rabbits. Often smaller than he is, they make perfect prey for him, and they are just so lively in stomach to resist. However, the gryphon will be more gentle or inclined to negotiate with rodents he finds cute, or feels compassion for. He could even be a protective to them if they are rather innocent, in return, of course, for some services. A gryphon must save the appearances, and it would be a little disgrace if others started to think of him as a harmless and kind creature. So even if he happens to feel affection for a rodent, he will hide it under a teasing and semi sadistic behavior. However, over time and once in private, it is not excluded that he eventually drops this mask and becomes really nice with said rodent. Duality between instinctive need for preying on them and affection is always fun to play. Big plus for anthro bunnies.

rivalry (big feline/avian/scaly partners) : there's always a more efficient and hungrier pred... However, Lightfeathers will look at any other predator as equals to him. The pride of a gryphon can sometimes be complex, and the species mentioned there will often be seen as rivals, especially dragons whom quite share the top of the foodchain with the mighty birds. Once again, save the appearances and honor. He will test them, tease and provok them, but if he finds them to be competent predators, he might allow himself to be in position of weakness. Understand there that he deeply respects predatory beings, and secretely fantasizes about being overpowered be a stronger one. A big lioness or dragoness that would tease him right would have great chance of enjoying an oversized chicken for dinner.

MLP verse : I love playing in this universe, relationships with pony characters is often interesting given their different personalities and capacities. A new awkward citizen in town, or a fully integrated and friendly one, there are just so many possibilities of background in a universe where anything may happen and where some equines show no fear and no care for the right order in the foodchain. Weird friendships or relationships of any kind are fun, especially when him or his partner seem a bit out of place.
