What happens when an elf marries a human mage, goes on to have a kid, and has no idea that said mage had one of those old bloodline enchantments on them?
Well.... firstly, the kid is a half-elf, but that's kinda to be expected. Secondly, they have a kid who'll definitely outlive their dad. And thirdly, depending on that kid's upbringing, he or she may well come out like Lira!
The product of her parents' natures, her own misadventures as a child, and entirely too many comic books, Lira is about what you'd expect. Sixteen years old, the young half-elf has come into a lovely, slender figure that's a little bit more than what one would expect of a pure elf, with shorter, blunter ears that are, supposedly, less sensitive than an elves, as well. That, or she had a damned good anesthetic. Either way, pierced ears, which are uncommon among most elves who aren't masochists.
Anyway.... growing up in the modern world has been tricky, but not too difficult, all things considered. The bullies in school had different things to tease her about, but otherwise things were the same. The only thing is, as she hit puberty, other factors than zits came into play. (As luck would have it, half-elves don't GET zits, or need makeup, which is excellent for her).
While she may not have had the typical teenager's menace, what she got instead wasn't much better. It's lucky her parents knew to expect it, really, and that no one was around when it first manifested! The bully who caught the full brunt of her outburst made a full recovery, and stopped messing with her, too... hell, she transferred to another school to stay away from Lira! Not that anyone would blame her... it's not every day that someone yells stop and their assailant gets hurled into a nearby tree hard enough to crack one or more of their ribs.
Fotunately, it's been a few years since then, and Lira's been getting steady lessons from her dad about magic. She knows how to control it now, and thanks to her mother, none of the lessons hurt for very long afterward. Her dad's old-school... but he means well. Nothing teaches how to manifest a magical shield like pain! And baseballs.
Nowadays, Lira's grown up a bit more. Slender and curvy, she's definitely good-looking, though she thinks of herself as average. At present, she's enrolled in a high school not too far from a rather odd park, spending most of her days in class. In her free time, though, or at need, she's entertaining thoughts of other activities. Namely, superheroism... with her family's bloodline gift and her other abilities, she thinks she could manage it!
Her abilities, of course, are magic.... relatively weak elemental magic, some stronger force skills, and ritual magic as her real strength. However, her gift... well, you'll have to play with her and find out!
