Society's come a long way from the person-eat-person world of people getting casually downed on the street. ... Okay, maybe it hasn't come that far, but that catgirl on the corner, that naga in the office, are far more likely to just go about your day then they are to try and turn you into a slowly softening bulge. Close proximity to a predator isn't, any longer, a certain harbinger of your upcoming doom. And if you treat the world that way, you're going to be a neurotic mess by the time you hit adulthood.
But when your species evolved in a world more of them left the world being pumped through someone's intestines--or being made into a messy orgasm--than of old age, well, those survival instincts? Have to go somewhere. Sometimes, they simply get muted. Dulled. Smoothed and flattened and pruned.
And sometimes they get very, very crosswired.
Which brings us to the twins.
Luka works behind the camera, or, at least, that's why he figures he was hired. He's handy with electronics, and, well, mice-demis are often used for technical roles--their smaller sizes makes it easier for them to run cabling, and at LowemakStudios, sometimes, the internal camera setups, as well.
Lucca--is more at home in front of the camera. Originally the one picked up with her brother dragged alongside her, she's excited and raring to go. She dreams of getting practiced enough to maybe be the one on the outside, but that's going to take work and training--
