Multiple Utility Synthetic Lifeforms (MUSLs) are a species created by a now Defunct Biotech Corporation, to maintain Starships and Space Stations, and the Crews that serve on them.
A MUSL's body is slimy and boneless, allowing them to squeeze into the tightest of places. Their slime can have aphrodisiac or even hypnotic qualities on those it comes into contact with, though some individuals aren't vulnerable to it's effects.
Their stretchy and boneless bodies make it relatively simple to swallow large prey whole, and their unique interior anatomy can sustain the life of an occupant for many hours, though it is not uncommon for an over-worked or malfunctioning MUSL to consume and absorb fellow crew.
They come in several different models, the smallest of which are able to access the smallest crevices of starships, the largest able to lift and move the heaviest of cargo.

- The tongue of a MUSL is covered in cells similar to that of jellyfish stingers, able to inject a multitute of different chemicals into anyone they touch. From powerful paralytics, to potent dopamine substitutes.
- MUSLs revert to a 'feral' state if they are isolated from society for long enough, becoming nothing more than animalistic predators.
- 'Feral' MUSLs become more individualistic, often developing their own personalities, and the ability to speak.
- They can change the colour and texture of their skin, in much the same way as an octopus.
