Makka is just your average dark elf necromancer. She was trained by her mentor, Alzheir Vaelen-Al'Nar, in necromancy and the study of undeath. She has been a member of the secret organization known as "The League of Sseth" since she was 16. Her powers are based around control over life and death itself, with an emphasis on undead creatures. Makka is capable of speaking with spirits and can manipulate death energy to some degree. Her command over these energies allows her to work with the powers of entropy, decay, and diseases.

Makka Darkhollow is often villainized because of her specialization and her talent for manipulating the dead. Even though Makka is seen as evil or malicious by most, there have been a few who know better than to judge her so easily. It does not help her case that her race, the Drow are commonly seen as wicked by other races. Despite the reputation, she is very compassionate towards others even if they do not seem worthy enough to be saved from their fate. Her aim is unique among her profession, she wishes to develop a cure for death. If it were possible to remove death, then perhaps all suffering could come to an end. In this way she seeks to protect everyone regardless of whether they deserve protection.

To this task she works tirelessly to understand the state of dead and seek to reverse it's effects. Her research has led her into various dark places such as the Plaguewrought Lands and the Great Beyond. She has traveled in search of knowledge and information which might help her cause but has found nothing conclusive yet. Many hunt her and aim to kill her for her profession, simply because of the nature of necromancy itself.
