So yeah, she's been permavore'd :) no more shark~
So uhh... uhmm.. about me.. OH! Okay I got it! Hey! I'm Mako, I was given that name by a fisherman because I'm part Mako shark. Though don't worry; I don't bite too hard -- unless that's your thing I suppose. I'm actually pretty friendly when you get to know me if you can look past the whole stereotype that sharks want nothing more than to hurt you. I'm actually kind of shy, so the likely-hood of that is not too high. The only time I really eat people is when it's consensual.. Is that weird? I think it's a little weird, but that IS why I came to this park after all. I found it really hard to find a decent sized meal to actually fill me up in the wild because I was always to shy, or to nervous to seriously hurt someone. Maybe I'm just bad at my job/species.. No no I'm definitely bad at being a shark.. How is a SHARK afraid of open water?
When I say that I'm truly not kidding.. I've been afraid of open water since I was born. My first memory was a massive, horrifying looking creature swimming right below me and my mother in the water with it's mouth wide open and razor sharp teeth. Luckily my father and a group of men from our Shiver(that's a group of sharks <3) scared whatever it was back into the depths of the ocean. Though unfortunately ever since then I have been afraid of open water. I'm much more comfortable on land, however awkward that may be and just last year I made my way to shore. I've been a lot happier ever since the transition, though from all the years of teasing from other pups(adolescent shark.) and my general fear of straying too far from an underwater cave my family lived in I'm still quite shy. It's been sort of hard to make friends that don't run away the moment you try to introduce yourself but I'm still plenty happier than when I lived in the ocean. Luckily there are quite a good number of small much more comfortable ponds here in the park that I know aren't deep enough to house that sort of horror I saw at birth; so I have no problem keeping my skin from drying out.
Ever since I left the ocean I've made myself at home in a small out of the way pond on one of the lesser traveled paths in the park, where I'll often spend hours just floating along the surface to either sleep or just relax. There's a very comfortable bench close to the pond; and I enjoy spending time there as well especially when I do bring friends. It's quiet and secluded; and ultimately where I'm most comfortable.
Since I made it onto land I picked up a couple of hobbies from the few friends I did manage to find. I do think my favorite hobby would probably have to be video gaming though. Some of the others include; swimming(no shit?) running, hanging out with friends, and rock climbing. If I were as mean as the rumors make sharks out to be good lord this park would be in trouble. Other than that there's really not all that much to say about myself. I am always looking to either make a new friend, see something I haven't seen before or experience something entirely new. Though it may take a little prying to get me out of my shell..
