Mara's story is far from one of happiness. It is full of romance, grief, and a whole lot of lust. Quite a few people may know of her, or specifically of the way in which she died, but no one really knows exactly why things happened the way they did for Miss Mara Cross. Unfortunately, what we do know is that she died a Miss, and that may be one of the main reasons why she still lurks around.

Being an attractive, Caucasian woman, people would often see Mara as a very privileged individual. However, she never received as much attention from her parents as she would have liked, as they seemed more focused on her sister (who wasn't satisfied by this either). As a teenager, she spent much time focusing on work in hopes of perusing her aspiration of becoming a poet and songwriter, but she ended up feeling as though she wasted her youth with this. She would occasionally try to make relationships with the boys, but she would ultimately be let down in the end. She became increasingly depressed as the years went by and eventually dropped out of college a little after her twentieth birthday.

One night, while staring at herself in the mirror and reflecting on her past, she decided it was time for a change. She cut her long, chestnut hair so it reached a few inches past her shoulders. She soon dyed most of it a bottle blonde color, though she left her roots alone. The transition between chestnut to blonde was often covered with a tasteful headband with a ribbon on the top. Instead of wearing leather jackets or sweaters, she began to wear skirts and very "cutesy" clothing. It was around this particular change in persona that her poetry was recognized, as well as her music. She gained fame quickly after.

With her newfound fame, Mara began to seek out men she became attracted to, drawing a small heart on her cheek whenever she began to feel in love. She would develop lovely relationships, but also became somewhat atrocious when dealing with commitment. Feeling a desire to be both submissive and dominant, she would quickly move on to another man if the one she was with began to go against what she desired. Her reputation as a renowned heartbreaker began to influence her career positively and negatively, however. Being a heartbreaker gave her new material to use, but it also showed the public how she treated her lovers, causing her to slowly lose popularity without her realizing it.

Not very long after, she finally found a man who she felt a true passion for. Her need to be a heartbreaker diminished greatly as she found true love, and even discovered a new side of herself. She occasionally fantasized about shrinking down and crawling inside his mouth, maybe even allowing him to swallow her... Of course, the abnormality of the fantasy embarrassed her, so she never made it even the least bit open. She was still able to keep a great relationship with him, although shortly after he proposed to marry her, things would change for the worst...

Mara's fiancée soon contracted a rare sickness that slowly weakened him and would eventually kill him. Mara spent as much time with him as possible, but also sought advice from people who were close to her. Ultimately, the weaker he became, the more despondent she became. With the occurrence of his eventual death, Mara, also influenced by her nearly complete loss of fame, finally lost it. After writing one final, dark poem, she made a comeback to the headlines with her own very unusual death. In an attempt to kill herself, Mara ingested an entire bottle of sleeping pills, but while washing them down, she accidentally dropped her water glass. Suddenly woozy, most likely from the effects of the pills, when she began to move forward, she slipped on the puddle of water and fell over, crashing through a large window. It all seemed to end when she fell from the window of her penthouse, but that just wasn't the case.

She found herself standing close to her apartment building, watching as an ambulance drove off with her discarded shell inside. She could only remember so much, though memories of her previous lover still vaguely haunted her. If one thing stuck with her, it's her need for love. In spite of being a ghost, she is practically as real as any human would be, with the exception of being able to evanesce herself at will. However, she can still project different appearances. Although her spirit looks the same as she usually does, whenever she sees someone, even a person she bares a crush on, she will appear in her alternate persona. However, as cute or pretty as she may look this way, she is still somewhat manipulative and dark, and occasionally desperate for love. At times, she may even seem to be somewhat of a psychopath, literally becoming a heartbreaker when she feels she is being wronged. In addition to this, she hasn't forgotten her previous fantasy, with newfound opportunities to draw out such a thing, she is more than happy to try it. If anything, it can stop her from breaking your heart, or even stopping it..
