Art by Grind, a real cool person!
Tucked deep away in the lush, forested mountains, along a slow, winding stream sits an isolated house, one belonging to a village lost centuries ago. Some locals caution against venturing too close to it, while others claim their illnesses were cured after making the long hike out there. Despite being so secluded, the building shows almost no sign of degradation, nor abandonment. Candle light flickers on to shine through darkening evening trees and a lumbering figure comes and goes throughout the day along foot trodden dirt paths, down towards tenderly kept gardens and the bubbling river nearby. A sizable smoothed stone set in front of the house reveals the name of its owners, "The Himura family."

Asking around the nearby town grants very little info, many locals simply dismiss questions, others shake their heads, and other's faces fill with a mixture of dread and hatred just at its mention. And yet, a few others still are willing to tell of their ventures into the house. They tell of a kind, young woman, willing to take in the sick and the needy to tend to their ailments. Of course, they say, that it always comes at a cost. A favor, a gift, a chore. Those who refuse however, seldom end up coming back. When pressed for her appearance, a few photographs appear from drawers, wallets, and otherwise. They all show the same girl, a heavy-set giant of 6'10" with silky mocha hair tied up in a neat bun, and eyes of a similar color, dotted with flecks of vibrant green as if emeralds were shining through the soil, hidden behind a round pair of glasses. But upon closer inspection, certain features make themselves evident. Small webs between fingers, the odd spot of darker skin mixed in with the light, and a long, thick, paddle shaped tail protrudes from behind her. Questions about these odd characteristics spark accusations of demonic rituals and evil intent, a spirit mixing the traits of a salamander and a human, yet others believe her to be more benevolent. Regardless, her name remains the same throughout it all: Meiko.

TL;DR
Big, chubby salamander demi that lives in the forest as a medicine woman who asks for favors in return for healing. Those who refuse often end up helping pad out her stomach.
