Meredith is something of an enigma, no one can quite say where she came from, or when she began inhabiting the forests on the outskirts of the small town. But as soon as she took up residence, those woods became, overnight, decidedly harder for travelers to pass through. Once familiar trails seem to change of their own accord, a journey that was once merely a half a day's walk suddenly became a week or more. Strange creatures were seen, some nightmarish and otherworldly. And then the disappearances started. Female travelers began hearing a musical laughter that their male counterparts could not seem to hear, they caught glimpses of a redhaired figure darting from tree to tree, or even leaping from branch to branch. Their male companions brushed their claims off as madness... But then inevitably, the men would look around and discover that they were suddenly alone. At least three forays into the woods have been made in an attempt to locate this mysterious woman, if she exists. Few of those fooish enough to go ever returned.....
