You know... its not very useful, having an ego that can fill several football fields(relative space, of course) and not having the power to back it up. It's a pretty bad thing, in fact, when one goes up against things with bigger egos and the clout to back them fairly often.
Merle, as she calls herself, is a dragon-elf hybrid. Pointy ears, lush curves, bright hair, wings, horns, a tail, and an ego large enough to match pretty much any dragon out there. Of course... she doesn't have the power to back her ego up, being what she is. Oh, sure, she has plenty of physical strength and speed, and may even have a breath weapon(though she's not telling if she DOES), but all of it pales in comparison to all but the youngest of dragons. Yeah, she can easily snap a man's femur in half, but.... well. Its not terribly helpful against something that could do the same, but far more so, to her.
Shunned by dragons and humans alike as she grew up, her elven mother having passed away long before she could reveal the location of her home, Merle is one of the few halfbreeds who didn't go evil... per se. She did, however, become rather surly. She doesn't respond well to perceived insults, and she IS rather dangerous to your average human. She has natural armor, superhuman speed and strength, and a natural spell resistance... to a degree. Plenty of will power to back up that tremendous ego of hers, you see.
Right now... well. She has money. She LIKES money. Especially gold. Gold is her favorite. But all money's good. The thing is... she needs MORE money. She can't eat whatever she wants... she's not a dragon, after all, with the intimidating effect that'd let her get away with it. She has to pay for things... which galls her to no end, spending bits of her hoard. So she's looking for work now.... that, or foolish thieves. Those'll do nicely for dinner.
She's got a few quirks, of course. She's got a tremendously bloated ego, for one. She can only sleep on top of metal currency. She eats her meat rare. She can eat someone alive and whole, after which point she drops into a lazy near-sleep. Oh, and she's got nothing against manipulating people to get what she wants. Just... don't insult her, unless you can handle her.
Oh, and she has two tattoos, both imbued with magic. Think of them as spell grafts. One of them protects her from acid(up to a point) and the other restores her to life in a new body should she perish, and repairs her body if she doesn't. Handy, that! .... you know, considering.
About her personality.... Merle has a few little issues. She's very possessive and self-centered. IF she should capture someone, she'd treat them as a pet or slave. Part of her hoard. However, unlike a true dragon, she'd happily trade them away for enough money. She's also rather vain, and fairly easily flattered.
She DOES in fact have a breath weapon... a specialized one. No good against dragons, at least not as far as damage, but it IS useful. She has a sonic breath weapon. Her voice can be modulated very, very carefully, tweaked to suit her needs, be those needs to shatter a suit of armor or to hypnotize someone. The latter is unlikely, though, as she's not terribly subtle, at least not often. She tends to be forceful when she wants something. As well, she can reach rather impressive volumes, often deafening. She, herself, is resistant to such things as siren songs, sonic blasts, etc.
