The world is not as it seems. Monsters walk among humanity, disguised by glamours and operating openly for humanity has lost the eyes needed to see the magical world. But there are still some few that remember, that realize the danger. They are the Bracers; funded by the Illuminati and trained by the Templars, the Bracers (named for their signature arm guards) are a secret militant order that hunts down and exterminates monsters. They make no distinction between those that prey upon humans in dark allys and those that simply wish to live their lives in peace... all non-humans are a threat to humanity's flourishing and are thus to be eliminated. Armed with ancient magic and modern technology, Bracers are leathal agents in the field that blend fighting styles together for swift clandestine assassinations.

An orphan taken in by the Bracers as an infant, Mikaela Harrison has spent her entire life training for field operations. She made her first kill at the tender age of nine and formally began field ops at fourteen. Mikaela has never known anything in her life but the hunt. With a razor's focus and a level of dedication only achievable through indoctrination as a child she is an unflappable hunter that is almost single-minded of purpose. Young, fit, inventive, and possessing of a disturbing natural talent for ending life, her operator thinks Mikaela may be the best field agent she's ever seen. Despite her young and relative inexperience, her successful hunts have including a dragon, two demons, and even an angel. A risk taker, Mikaela has thrown herself into the jaws of death (literally) more then once to get a shot at a target. Favoring gunplay, she typically suppliments her weapons with alchemically enhanced ammunition and grenades.

All of this has, however, severely hampered Mickey's social development to the point where some that speak with her think her to be a high-functioning autist. Emotionally deadened and inept in social situations, Mickey has no friends and has always considered them to be something that other people have. Her age means she's inserted into high schools as she's able to blend in with the student population... a place most Bracer agents can't. The constant moving around has done her awkwardness around other humans no favors and has served to distance her from the people she lives to protect. Several demi-humans have picked up on this and have attempted to make friends with Mickey in an attempt to either deflect her aggression or to get her to lower her guard for an ambush. Thus far, this has resulted in the death of every monster that's attempted it as Mikaela has learned that she can use this to get her target to lower their own guard.
