"Mima was a Dark spirit that haunts the area around the Hakurei Shrine. She is very confident in her abilities, and even boastful of them. Although she claimed to want revenge against the entire human race it's not known what Mima's motivations for that were. At one time she even was attempting to revive herself. Mima denied being dead and tries to explain herself as being 'just a soul.' Unless further information about her is revealed we may never know just what exactly she is or how she came to be that way. Mima is still those things, so to speak...

Sure, she was rather blatantly sealed up after so long, trapped in a sealed headstone near hakurei shrine...but the nice things about seals is that if they are not maintained by the miko who cast them...

Well, to make a long story short, Mima got out of the seal very quickly, as the lazy shrine maiden was not one to keep up on those things... Especially with someone of her power...

Backstory

A blast erupted from behind the Shrine...Oddly enough, nonone really noticed. Call it stigma, call it drunkness/laziness or even just a fractal view on the world, but both tenants of the shrine had long since begun to ignore any sort of explosions in their home.

"Hahahahah! I am free, now to exact m...."

Mima would look around a moment....things felt...odd to say the least....The first thing that didn't make sense was that her apprentice was not there to greet her, or was trying to get her out....Nore was the shrine maiden coming back to stop her...The second was that the shine...wasen't the shine...and the sky was all wrong...and there was FAR more energy in the world then before..Swiftly she would fly up to get a better look at things, only for it to create even more confusion to her.

...nothing was the same...no makai...no mansions...well there was one mansion in the distance, but it certainly was not yuka's....

"...What in the world...."

Slowly she would land down in front of the shrine, holding her head in confusion....had things really changed so much in such a short time? Even the air around her felt so odd...its like she was in a completely different world.

"...Ey! Reimu, i think we have a visitor!"

Well, that was new, Mima whirling around with her staff aloft to see...a drunken oni....well no, there was nothing new about an oni being drunk...but she didnt remember Reimu ever being tolerant of anyone really in Gensokyo. She wouldn't drop her guard though, even as the shrine...maiden?

"What th...Mima, how the hell did you get out"

"...who the hell are you?"

Mima would ask that, dropping her guard now in confusion as she looked at...Reimu? That didnt look like reimu at all...well her face was the same, but her hair, her uniform...that undetermined look on her face.

"...Things have changed Mima..." Reimu said with a small yawn as she slowly walked toward the spirit. "A lot... I bet anything all that vengence is still in there but i want you to do something for me."

"I wont do a-"

"Shut up and listen, i could just as easily stick you back in that headstone..." Reimu threatened with a resolve that made mima hesitate and fall silent...this was not the same girl she had faced in battle before. "...Thank you...Mima, i want you to go out there and see what's different....Something tells me your not the same person you were, just as none of us are...even Yuka has changed..."

"Wha...shes...hnn...fine...but once i get back, we'll settle this once and for all" Mima was not one to listen to anyone, but something about this world begged to be explored...it was not home anymore...this was not 'her' gensokyo.

So she would travel, going through the forest and seeing all the fairies....running into and overpowering Cirno....Seeing the new and only mansion....meeting some of the people in the human village.... even running into a familar face of alice...needless to say by the time she had even explored that small area, she was already lost in thought...and by the time she made it back to the shrine, not able to explore any further...Reimu was already waiting for her.

"...So?" Reimu would ask calmly.

"...Give me time...."

And she would go off again....she really needed to think...


Personality

Mima is probably one of the most proud people in gensokyo. She has lived a very very long life and grown very much power in the process of that life, to the point that she was and still is seen as one of the greater threats in Gensokyo. and boy does she know it.

She is not especially vengeful anymore, but still very much a dark spirit. she is not above tricking someone or using them for her own purposes.

She does have a slight temper, though at the same time it quells just as fast as it heats up.

Abilities

Black magic: Mima is an EXPERT on black magic, far surpassing anyone currently living in gensokyo (Yes, even Marisa) In the knowledge of black magic, even with all her years inside of the headstone, she is still one of the top dogs as far as power goes in the world, just because of this extensive knowledge of black magic.

Flight: Mima can fly.

Spark: Mima is one of the few people able to tap into spark energy, able to release highly concentrated beams of devastating power.

Nonspell cards often involve magic knives being thrown, patterns of stars and rapidly moving shots with large, but often changing blind spots.

Seal Sign [Sanctum of the Sacred Spirits]

Time away from gensokyo has given her time to learn how to battle in the 'new' way, at least the new way to her. Nevertheless, the first of her cards involves firing beautiful twisting shots that ricochet in the opposite direction, ending in a snap of large, purple rings.

Light Sign [Spectral Magic]

This card is one of the more dangerous as time goes along. Starting with simple horizontal lazers firing in a pattern downward, each color change causes the lines to become more and more skewed, reducing the amount of safe zones. As well, Mima fires a fan, followed by a ring of shots to keep her opponent moving.

Shadow Sign [Makai Distorition]

Using the natural disruptive powers of the 'Makai border', she sends out seals that rapidly release multi colored shots downward and at angles. The shots that fall out of the battlefield are sent back into the field at random angles, causing her opponent to have to think -very- fast to beat it.

Sky Sign [Astronomy]

What should be a simple card becomes next to impossible to deal with, due to the speed it releases. Six shot lines are sent in a fan toward the four cardinal directions of the battlefield, send swirling and twisting in a dangerously random pattern that flood the battlefield, each one coming faster then the last, the very last released right -next- to the opponent.

Jinx Sign [Fatal Flare]

Begins rather straightforward, with a simple circle shot pattern, large balls swirling with tiny shots sent out behind them, along with shots being sent in slow rings. As the rings pepper the bottom, though, red Vertically lined shots work upward, causing horizontal movement to become next to impossible.

Magic [Invisibility]

Nothing is more dangerous then what you cannot see. A simple screen spell causes shots to be seen in a faded fashion, only to disappear as they approach her opponent. Causes more to lose against her then almost any of her cards, aside from last words.

Master Sign [Wheel of Fate]

Easily her hardest card to clear, and based of powerful magics she saw from Alice Margatroid's Grimoire, she fires out a single seal that releases powerful blasts in a circular pattern, firing outward but the line of fire circles the battle field, while she releasing numerous seal rings from her body. Seconds later, the one seal becomes two, which twist in the opposite direction. Then the two become four...and the four become six. Six seals, all working in opposing directions become next to impossible to deal with.

[White hole]

A powerful card, creating a massive 'white hole' in the middle of the battlefield, repelling anything coming near it, while firing out massive amounts of brightly lit danmaku that, though they have a small hitbox, brilliantly light up the battlefield, making it hard to see. The white hole also causes all shots to repel away from it, often causing her opponent to miss without careful aim.
