Mindy

When you think of vampires, what do you imagine? Bloodsucking fiends, gliding through the night to swoop upon their unsuspecting prey? Immortal kings and queens dwelling in ancient gothic castles? Sparkly, emotionless twits at war with werewolves?

Well, this is Mindy. She sucks blood, is technically immortal, and does give an impression of sparkling. She's...perky. Bubbly. She giggles a lot, and when not supping upon someone's jugular, loves all things sweet. Her hobbies include anime, comics, manga, dancing, movies, people-watching and long midnight strolls. She dresses like a schoolgirl and appears to be a teenager despite having lived for many, many years. She drinks vitae.....she nibbles pocky. If she was ever a queen of eternal darkness, she sure doesn't look or act the part now!

Maleficent Validecta von Sacramore. But she goes by Mindy these days, and only old vampires (or someone with a tremendous amount of research) would know her actual name. She used to be one of the castle-dwelling, peasant-ruling sorts, but that was centuries ago. She was eventually staked, beheaded, and burned....but all it takes is some blood on the right pile of ashes, and poof! She's back. She adores the modern world, and has adapted well. She wanders, playing up her appearance as a typical girl in her mid teens, and having the time of her unlife.

So what can she do? She can turn into a cloud of red mist, move faster than a human eye can easily track, bend a steel bar into a pretzel, and float along giving the middle finger to gravity at will. She can, in fact, control spilt blood. So what can stop such a monster? Sunlight. Burning. Impalement of the heart or decapitation will slow her down or temporarily incapacitate, but not destroy. 'Holy' or 'Light' magics might have an effect. Religious faith, symbols, or blessed objects are hit-and-miss. More often a miss...you generally won't see her backing down because of an icon on a necklace or avoiding churches. The angrier or thirstier she becomes, the more monstrous she will seem; eyes glowing crimson instead of their usual golden hazel, fangs bared.

Fortunately, while aggressively friendly, she doesn't tend to murder as casually as she did in the Old Days. A meal is a meal, but killing for shits and giggles is a waste of food and potential friends. She might even be willing to be on the receiving end of someone's digestive tract (or thirst for blood), under the right circumstances or if overpowered. Likewise, while she can use her dark powers to ingest someone, she doesn't have to make it fatal.

Five-five tall, short blonde hair, a meager bust, and perpetually carrying a red knapsack. Who couldn't adore her? Besides that poor cold, pale body she left in the alley...
