In the year of 1997 for 7 days of Christmas, which would be forever known as the New York Blockade incident, terrible events caused a immense loss of life and damage to property through out the Island of Manhattan the person who was named directly responsible was a woman named Melissa Pearce. Though far from a evil monster Melissa was once a normal woman who suffered from a Kidney disease, she had been on the waiting list for a transplant for years with no luck. Until one day after a fate filled Car accident which forever changed a future NYPD officer's life, that officer was named Aya_Brea. In in 1977 as a result of a fatal heart attack, Aya's mother lost control of the car which carried both her Daughter's Aya and Maya Brea, Both Aya's mother and her sister died in the accident leaving Aya scared so badly that she even repressed the memories deep into her subconscious. Almost as a silver lining Maya and her mother were a donor, and when harvested they would aid many people in their new lives. Aya herself suffered from a deflect in her right eye, and was transplanted with one of her sisters Cornea. Almost like a horrible sense of fate Melissa Pearce on the same night was in the hospital due to her Kidney failing, over seen by Doctor Hans Klamp, one of Maya's kidney's were transplanted into Melissa's body saving her life, but not for the better...
Maya's mitochondria spent nearly eleven years in a dormant state within Melissa Pearce who's body was beginning to develop an immunity to the new Kidney. During the time after Melissa's transplant, she fell constantly ill and was advised to take immunosuppressant drugs by the Doctor who had over seeded the transplant Dr Hans Klamp. This was done in order to prevent her internal systems from rejecting the new organ, Melissa had a long battle ahead of her but she was determined to beat it and live out her dream of being a star Opera singer. Melissa believed the reason behind her chronic illness was stress from her ambition and her bodies fight to reject the foreign organ, however. Unknown to Melissa, it was Maya's mitochondria that caused her illness and the immunosuppressant drugs that Melissa took in increasingly stronger doses, allowed Maya's mitochondria to gain a greater control over her and would eventually lead to the Mitochondria invading her cells and seizing control of the nucleolus and take complete control of Melissa's body.
This condition persisted and worsened over time.
Years later, Melissa even through her constant sickness became an opera singer living in New York City, but she still wished to be the lead singer not just a mere background back up singer, after trying so hard she was nearly depressed to find that the part had been given to someone else. However in a fortunate or rather eerie turn of events Melissa gets the lead role for a production after the lead died in an apartment fire, though this would prove to lead to more harm that it would good. As the ever increasingly stressed Melissa prepared for her role she started to get massive hot flushes like her entire body was burning with fire, in some of her rehearsals Melissa even passed out, the strange thing was every time this happened the burning pain started in her transplanted Kidney.
On December 24, 1997 the opera that Melissa was so obsessed with was due to begin, in order to star in an opera performance, Melissa overdosed on immunosuppressants the night before. This drug overdose collapsed Melissa's immune system entirely leaving her body like an open door to infection, allowing Maya's mitochondria to finally take full control of Melissa's body by entering through her cells and attaching to the Nucleolus. Once the Mitochondria had succeeded in taking control of Melissa's body Eve "awakens" right during Melissa's solo. The event's described by survivors and the report of NYPD officer Aya_Brea who had attended the Opera on a date that night were horrific, once Melissa's eyes had changed to glowing emerald green people began to feel strange. Waves of heat seemed to well up from within the people in the Opera audience, as Eve's Mitochondrial power infected them and dominated their own, inciting the immense amounts of energy within the bodies of humans to ignite and bust into flames, the way the cops and news papers would describe this later on was "combustion" It seemed like Eve who stood on the stage, surrounded by the flames of people burning through out the building, was igniting people by just looking at them.
Standing on the stage staring right at Aya who was the only one Eve could not ignite she smiled, her eyes almost summoning the NYPD officer to challenge her. Aya Ran onto the stage and tried to stop Eve, No matter how many times Aya tried to shoot Eve her body just seemed to heal and not even flinch, Eve was able to gather energy in her hands and fire it off at Aya. Suddenly for seemingly no reason eve stopped, Aya's body grew hot and a power within it began to awaken. As their small skirmish continued Eve spoke cryptic words to Aya and eventually fled into the lower regions of the Carnegie Hall with the NYPD officer in close pursuit. Aya encounter Eve once again in a room with only one fine looking Piano and mirrors on the wall, Melissa seems to speak from her struggling with Eve for control as they play the Piano. At this point, Melissa "dies," and Eve becomes the dominant persona permanently and slams her hands through the Piano keys and under-goes a mutation. Her legs are replaced with a black tail-like appendage, her fingers and nails lengthen to form claws, her hair reshapes and recolors itself, and Eve levitates; she displays her new strength by facing Aya once again, but before anything decisive could be decided Eve retreats again smashing through the floor and heading into the sewers, where within she is able to escape from Aya.
In the game, Eve seems to have the same abilities and goal as the previous one.
She can cause people to spontaneously combust, and she appears to be able to influence others,
which is shown by the eyes changing color to red.
In addition to the previously mentioned powers, she is also capable of mutating lesser creatures
(non-humans) into vicious beasts and shooting lasers from her hands. She is also capable of causing an entire audience of people
to not only be under her control, but to be transformed into a giant blob of orange slime. Eve is able to use the audience to
reanimate dinosaur skeletons in the museum, and in the final stages of the game, transform the audience into a giant humanoid.
Eve succeeds where her "sister" in Japan failed; she gives birth to the Ultimate Being. Dr.
Klamp created sperm that took out the father's mDNA, which is what caused the death of the being in Japan.
After birth, this Eve mutates further, dropping the maternal appearance in favor of a violent and organic one;
she produces a dress of red flesh and she forms what looks like a giant gun or cannon to replace her previous black tail.
After this form is defeated in combat, she mutates further, now into a slick, nearly angelic creature with blue arms,
wings, and a sort of frame around her legs. While in this new form Eve's Mitochondrial power seems to be raging at its peak,
Eve is able to deliver highly focused and concentrated attacks, while also using her power to inflict harsh status aliments
such as temporary blindness, Paralyzation, confusion and even poison from just touch alone.
