A member of the Girlcollection. Motoko is a fanchar from "Ghost in the Shell", specifically, mainly from both seasons of "Stand Alone Complex", but she can also appear in a Nexus canon.

Motoko Kusanagi, often called "the Mayor", is a cyborg working in a law enforcement agency, where she is Aramaki's second in command in Section 9. She is a very effective leader and is able to use her wits and cybernetic body in bringing criminals to justice. However, despite the number of cyborgs in Section 9, Kusanagi hand-picks Togusa, who has undergone only minimal brain modification, to balance the roster, an interesting expression of her belief that homogeneity is a weakness and that versatility is a strength. Kusanagi is often contemplative and brooding, whilst her counterpart Batou is more extroverted and lively.

Since she has a full cybernetic body, she is not certain her ghost, or her soul, retains any humanity. Despite having an artificial body, she has a human conciousness that had been transferred into it. Although her frame is mostly consisting of mechanical parts, some of it are bio-engineered, highly effective organical parts. Motoko can eat normal food, she "sleeps" (or better, rests), she can be wounded - and yes, she can also have normal intercourse. Throughout the series, The Major maintains her signature commanding presence and authority.

Motoko had extensive military and special forces training and is a very skilled fighter, able to use almost all kinds of firearms and infantry weapons. Thanks to her artificial body, she is faster, stronger and tougher than normal humans, and she can also use a cloaking device if she wears a certain armored suit. Despite her combat expertise, her true talent lie electronic warfare and information management. She is a top notch hacker able to break through almost all security measures, and can crack most passwords and codes easily. Section 9 is often used in undercover missions where they infiltrate somewhere to extract data or hack into a system to find information, and Motoko is one of the best for such jobs.

Unlike other members of Section 9, The Major could best be described as a lone wolf, relying very little on outside help to accomplish her goals. Among the various members of Section 9, Kusanagi is usually the one Chief Aramaki singles out to accompany him on official and off the record business. Motoko is very beautiful and downright sexy, her body being curvy and well-developed, featuring ample feminine features. Her natural looking skin is immaculate, and even feels relatively normal, Motoko having touch sensors that allows her to receive feedback resembling the typical sensory input humans have. She has purple, short hairs and red eyes, and a quite pretty face.

As in the manga, Kusanagi maintains her unique dress, wearing thigh-length boots, a strapless leotard with no trousers, and a leather jacket (or other rather tight, give-away clothing), as except in cases where this is inappropriate.

During such times she will usually appear either in a tan military officer's uniform with markings that denote her rank as a Major, or in a black and grey tight-fitting combat suit that the team uses on its raids and other paramilitary operations. In rare cases, Motoko will adopt other styles of dress appropriate to her surroundings, such as a London police officer and a garbage lady. As one might guess from her frisky, revealing attire, Motoko is very open about sexual and naughty things, liking to display her body, flirt with others (in her free time), and she is casual about sex as well.

Motoko's personal life is not alluded to much in the first season, although the events of the episode "Missing Hearts" suggest that she underwent cyberization at a very early age (approximately age 9), and that she had trouble adapting to the use of the body which resulted in her inadvertently breaking one of her favorite dolls and crying at the same time which she normaly hardly ever does. Kusanagi underwent full cyberization due to severe injuries she suffered after a plane crash when she was just six years old. She was in a coma until it became apparent that she would die without undergoing cyberization.

Later, she joined Section 9 and got along on her own. A fact few not really known about her is that her kybernetic body was not only designed to ingest food, but it was built somewhat stretchy and flexible, allowing her to devour someone whole, and she thoroughly enjoys using this method to dispose of criminals.
