The Thing Under Your Bed.

The boogeymen don't exist. They are just things made up by parents to get their kids to be nice and go to bed without arguing. Of course there's nothing in the closet, behind the sofa or under the bed...

Or so they'd have you believe. Well, they probably believe it themselves, until one morning they find an empty bed, and you find, well, a new one... a much darker, scarier one, all around you, soft fleshy mattress from every side, from below and above... and before you know it, it would be bedtime again, but for a much, much longer time...

Mr. Evil is a boogeyman responsible for more than one such cases. Dozens? Hundreds? Thousands, perhaps. Its so easy to leave no evidence behind, after all, when you're a "product of imagination." And there are so many delicious morsels to gobble up every night, once the lights are out.

Of course, that's not his real name. He doesn't have one. Or he has many. Whatever and whichever the current snack prefers. He can be quite the gentleman, of course, talking to the squirming little meals all the way, explaining what's going to happen to them. Of course, they can't talk back with their mouths bound. Wouldn't want them to scream for help now, would we?

As for what he is? Simple, he's a boogieman. He's The Thing Under the Bed. It is his job to gobble naughty girls (and good girls alike) up at night, tugging them under the soft mattress to be devoured, before disappearing, never to be seen again... until the night after, in another house, under another bed, snagging another little morsel. And oh, he's not picky. He'll go for small ones and big ones, slim ones and chubby ones. What's his favorite? Oh, that would definitely be sleepovers. They're all so cute when they bundle up together nicely, it is quite the feast...

What about you? Have you been good? It might matter, you know! Just be careful. When you turn your lights off... do so at your own risk, for he will be waiting...
