Born to a prestigious family of mages, Myrna was always expected to continue her family's proud tradition of sorcery. Her childhood was one of magic and wonder - she grew up in a magnificent estate living a charmed life, receiving the best tutelage possible to cultivate her natural talent. As she grew it became plain to all that she would become a fine sorceress one day, a worthy heir to her family's legacy.

Myrna's life changed forever due to the unusual circumstances following her 9th birthday. She had been gifted her first familiar, a black cat spirit she affectionately named Jynx. Her parents judged her learned and responsible enough to handle such a companion so they provided her with the necessary reagents and assisted with preparing the ritual. The young girl adored her new companion and began learning the ways in which he could assist with her magic. Unfortunately, there was an accident. She critically erred while casting a mind-link spell, the intent being for her to temporarily see through Jinx's eyes. A magical explosion resulted and when the air finally settled Jynx was no more. Myrna sat there alone, but forever changed. She had accidentally bonded with her companion, absorbing and fusing with his spiritual essence, and the result left her sporting new catlike features.

Her parents were initially distraught. They attempted to reverse the spell to no avail. A specialist was consulted, but Myrna surprisingly refused any further efforts to undo the change. She delighted in her new appearance and the feeling of unity with her familiar. Seeing how important this was to their daughter her parents eventually relented and accepted the change. Fortunately nekojin were not so uncommon a sight; they considered themselves lucky that her familiar had been a cat rather than an imp or a toad. Her classmates delighted in the new Myrna when she returned to school. They teased, of course, but also fawned over her cute new appearance. Illusionary cat ears and tails even became a style for the girls that year. Eventually everyone moved past the change and life returned to normalcy, Myrna enjoying an otherwise unremarkable childhood. Or as much as one might expect for a student of the magical arts.

Her interest in spellcraft was undeterred following the mishap of her 9th year - in fact, she devoted herself with renewed enthusiasm to her studies and displayed a greater aptitude for the arts than she had previously. She maintained a balanced curriculum - divination, conjuration, alchemy, restoration and so forth, but displayed a particular talent for black magic. Well, the black magic that is actually taught, that is. She was always a bookish girl, spending free time in either her home or school's libraries. Her friends were unable to persuade her to join the track-squad, despite her somewhat remarkable agility. "Wouldn't be fair," was her only response to such requests, offering a smug cattish grin.

Now in her 20th year, Myrna attends a prestigious local university for young wizards and witches. She lives at home due to the close proximity and her desire for privacy. She has spent some time traveling now as well, enjoying the opportunities afforded her due to her family's wealth to see and explore more of the world. There is so much magic in the world, now is the time for her to stretch her legs and truly see what life has to offer!

Physically, Myrna is an attractive young woman. She could be considered petite, standing at 5'4 with a slim build. Her hair has always been the envy of those in her class and is now quite long, having been years since it's last cut. Silky and black, it elegantly reaches past the small of her back and shimmers with a natural luster. Furry ears and a fluffy feline tail perfectly compliment her hair - by appearance she looks like a typical nekojin, as though she was born this way. She is very cute - her feline features help with this, sure, but her playful blue eyes and small pointed nose are striking on their own merit. Her canines are also slightly pronounced, adding a sense of mischievousness to her grin. She dresses conservatively, enjoying dresses and skirts, and has an extensive wardrobe to select from. Her classmates have always been envious of this, pouting that Myrna always has something new and flattering to wear.

What else is there to say? Yes, if you're wondering, her tongue is raspy. She is gifted athletically though not prone to showing off - how fast and strong she truly is remains the subject of rumor and speculation amongst her classmates. She has never had a serious relationship, playfully dismissing the few suitors who have been brave enough to ask. Word among her peers is that she's into girls and hiding it from her parents. Oh, and she adores games of all sorts... card games, board games, etc. Yeah, she's a little bit of a nerd.

There is a darkness within Myrna which none of her peers would suspect. It's hard to say if it was always there or a result of her bond with Jynx. Unsatisfied with the sanctioned methods of practicing magic, she has taken to alternatives in her private time. Her personal collection of books includes writings of the witches of old. True black magic, not the watered down stuff they teach in school. She had secretly studied these spells for years but eventually found that further progress would require real-world application. So, she has taken to finding unwitting subjects to practice with.

Her methods vary according to her whims and the situation at hand. Some have been bewitched, stripped of free will and bent to her desires. Others have been reduced to the size of a mouse and snatched away at an opportune moment. And others still have fallen victim to a spell of transformation, finding themselves suddenly turned into a book for her to carry home. Regardless of the method the end results are the same.

What fate befalls such unfortunate souls? They are regarded as the equivalent of mice to the catgirl, toys for her pleasure and amusement. She experiments with forbidden magic, refining her craft at their expense. A lucky few are returned once she's had her fun, their memories a foggy haze. Most, however, are disposed of in various ways, their final moments serving only to satisfy her more primal desires.
