Mythra

~"N-now now.. settle down everyone! We've much to cover today."~

"Rvathe, it's a world seeping with magical energy. Its dazzling arcane currents course through every living being in some capacity; and without it, man would likely slip *liittle* by little back to age of char. People don't like to talk about that anymore.

Oh yeah, any rookie can tell ya, there're six circles of magic that *some* people, if they're lucky enough, can learn. They're called circles because, big surprise, the amount of circles that appear beneath the caster's feet reflects the level of the magic they're casting. The higher the level, the more numerous and big the circles get. Trust me.

The first circle, "raw" magic. Most first year students with a solid rank can pull this off. Pull over a book from across the room, light a lantern, you get the idea.

The second circle, "novice" magic. A little more advanced. Loooootsa nurses use the stuff. Novice magic can patch up small wounds, and it's....well, not *easy*, but eh, *relatively* easy to learn for what you can get out of it. More experienced bandits can use it to bless their weapons with the elements too. Watch out for those. Fucking scumbags.

*Gulp*

Where're we at?...Ah, right. The third circle, "journeyman" magic. This is where things start to get a little crazy. Docs usually reach this level at some point in their lives, teachers at magic-institutions for kids too. Magic at this circle's dense enough that even untrained people can see the currents, neat huh? At this level, you can heal life-threatening injuries, make yourself invisible without a potion, hell- even imbue small enchantments into objects.

The fourth circle, "expert" magic. Right, not a lotta people ever make it here. University professors mostly. Occasionally you get knights that learn this level too, usually champions of their kingdom. Reminds me of Sorin, that crazy fucker. Hope he's doin' alright. Anyways, at this circle, you can hurl tremendous balls of flame, raze the ground, maybe slay a dragon or ogre with physical self-enhancement magic. Like I said, not many guys and gals make it here.

The fifth circle, "archwizard" magic. Fifth circle, but funnily enough only four people can use it, 'far as I know. Queen Vicky's one of 'em. She gets real pissed whenever I call her that. The others? Mythra, then yours truly, and fiiinally someone I'd rather not get into right now. Once you get here kiddo...well, all the gloves are off. It's probably not surprising that there's not much I can tell ya about this circle, because so few ever achieve it. That being said, I'll keep it simple. So far, from this circle we've seen weapon enhancement that's wiped out armies, barriers that never break, teleportation, and......raising the dead. Sometimes I wonder if it was all worth it.

The sixth circle, "unbound" magic. A fairy tale for all I give a shit. It's technically possible, but no one in all of recorded history's ever pulled it off. Not to my knowledge, anyway. Ancient writings of this magic speak of traversing to other worlds, talking to the gods themselves, bringing the dead back to life. When I say raising the dead *this time,* I mean for real. Meaning...they actually come back, their entire selves. Not like her, not like how *she* does it....

By the way, if you try using a circle above your paygrade...if your body's not up to it, you suffer a consequence or "feedback" equal to the possible power that magic at that level can inflict. Basically, you fuck up the first circle you get a papercut, second circle, a deeper cut or a bruise. Gives you a better idea why not many folks make it to the higher circles, doesn't it?

Why'd I tell ya all this? Well kiddo, you asked about Mythra. Yeah yeah I know, you call her "headmaster", to me she's "Mythra," we go way back, her and I. Here's the story with her, know all that shit I just told you? Well, Mythra is a....bit of a one of a kind. Nobody knows what she was trying, not even me, but she tried her hand at some sixth circle magic....and lived, barely. Still a hell of a fucking achievement if I told ya some of the stories about others who've tried. Mythra used to be human, kid. Physically I mean, because 'far as I'm concerned, as a person she *still is*. She's a sweetheart, a really.....*kind* woman; I'm sure you think so too. Real long fucking answer but *gulp*, this old pair of eyes had a bit to teach I guess. Satisfy your curiousity? Good. Now go run off, wouldn't want people gettin' the wrong idea about me. *But*....y'know, come back if ya ever wanna talk again....been a while since I had some company. Maybe I'll teach ya a thing or two sometime."

Abilities: All magic up to and including fifth circle magic. Post transformation, the majority of her magic's taken on a bright blue hue and has a more natural fire element to it. Never/Dislike Basically a need for this character. Mythra's an awkward, reserved archwizard, and while she's kind she also CAN be a bit grumpy. She's not the type of character who'd be receptive to someone asking for a quick fuck. So yeah, she needs buildup and story for that kind of stuff. Doesn't that make it better anyway, though?
