Nebu, or Nebby isn’t strictly an “alien” in the conventional sense. Perhaps more fitting of a title such as “space anomaly” or “sentient dimensional rift in reality”. When Nebu originally discovered sapient life, he was delightedly curious; desiring to learn more and experience life from their new and exciting perspective. So, he modelled his body to mimic biological life, only he figured it would be a good idea to dial up all his emotions and sensations to 11. There was a few hundred years of “teething” as the unbalanced, emotional space-gremlin went around experiencing life to the fullest extent with his new body, as well as causing an immense amount of trouble, especially to those that upset him. Today Nebby is a sex addicted explorer with a habit of trying to collect anyone else remotely cute or interesting. He has no intention of returning to his previous form, and probably has forgotten about it anyway.
Nebu is made of an exotic type of matter that is technically more stable than normal matter referred to as “Alterium”. When normal matter is exposed to Nebulae’s inter-dimensional radiation it is converted to Alterium; not that you would notice, as it’s functionally the same. However, Nebu has full control of anything made of Alterium, able to reshape it, absorb it, or change its properties entirely. When Nebu created his biological body he decided to suppress this radiation; containing it within himself.
