Nefka is a Djinn(Demon), made of a silvery substance known as essence, that allows them to shapeshift in many different forms or appearances. (From any species feral or sentient)
STORY
Nefka is an ancient and powerful Djinn over 6000 years old.
Originally from the lost city of Abydos in Egypt, the demon has seen the rise and fall of numerous empires and served under some of the greatest sorceres and demon summoners in history.
But there lies that word Nefka hates so much "served", as a Djinn it was common to be frequently summoned by sorcerers of old and placed under their command to perform either dangerous, boring or degrading tasks.
Prideful by nature, Nefka would loathe the very idea of serving anyone.
For this reason the witty Djinn made sure to devour every single magician to ever attempt the summoning ritual on them, thus becoming a cautionary tale for demon summoners to always be careful to whom they summon. (the summoning process doesn't allow the djinn to attack the magician directly)
With the newfound anonymity, Nefka has adapted the form of an innocuous coptic egyptian teen as their "default" and form, figuring it would help keep the demonic identity and nature hidden, but when on the hunt the djinn prefers to take the shape of an attractive, voluptuous woman, with a piercing and predatory stare.
Today, Nefka enjoys to spend time in solitude in the old ruins of Abydos where they claimed an old temple as their own and turned it into a cozy palace, or when in the mood the Djinn enjoys traveling aimlessly.
PERSONALITY AND POWERS
Nefka is neither good or bad, but mostly a collection of positive and negative traits.
You can expect the Djinn to be very mischievous, but also kind hearted to anyone that is not considered an enemy, although to what is indeed an enemy or threat, Nefka will be downright sadistic and cruel.
Nefka is meant to be a very powerful character, with a vast array of spells to choose from (usually Sun themed) but at times the Djinn may find situations in which they can't come on top.
When threatened Nefka is able to concentrate their consciousness and powers in a substance that will ooze from the skin like a dense silvery sweat that will clump into a floating silver ball.
That ball is the essence of the demon in its most basic form/shape and it will float somewhere safe where it can regenerate the essence lost. Unfortunately the body from which the ball is ejected remains conscious and with no powers.
Essentially a duplicate, doomed to experience whatever fate awaits it.
These duplicates left behind are called "Ushabti" and beyond situations of danger, they are frequently shed for trivial reasons, ranging from agents sent to retrieve ancient relics in some remote antique shops or bazars, to servants tasked to mantain the temple when Nefka is traveling.
