Description

Sakura's true form is that of an ominous, ghost-like entity who wanders the Nexus and several other dimensions, consuming magical energy. Following her conversion into her darker version, Sakura's eyes turned from purple to blood red, and her hair turned white. She tends to wear a black, long-sleeved dress with blood-red linings, probably reminiscent from her Dark Shadow form, and her skin also gains extra blood red linings.

Backstory

Sakura was the second born daughter of the Tohsaka magi family. Like most magi, her father chose only one daughter to carry on his family's tradition as he believed raising an additional child would introduce competition. Zouken Matou, an ancient ally of the Tohsaka House, offered to adopt Sakura with the intention of training her as the successor of the Matou's magecraft as his own heir, Shinji, was incapable of sorcery. Due to her natural abilities, Zouken sought to use Sakura as one of his future vessels. Having to endure a cruel training during her childhood, Sakura became an empty and emotionless shell resigned to her fate. Although castigated and humiliated on a daily basis, Sakura maintained her bearings with great stoicism. Zouken hybridized the collected black ichor from the previous incarnation of the Holy Grail with several of his crest worm familiars, parasitic worms which drain her Mana but feed on her carnal impulses. Zouken used the contents of the Holy Grail given form by Sakura's subconscious, also known as "the shadow", to cause a genocide against people and Servants alike. At night, she used to go on a rampage throughout the city, ingesting large numbers of innocents for mana. Sakura eventually gives in to her internal malice, realizing that she is and accepting her nature as the shadow that appeared in her dreams. Zouken tried to possess her then, but was defeated and consumed by her instead. Thus, Dark Sakura's reign of terror over the multiverse begun.
