Nick looks normal with a shirt and a scarf. But if these accessories are removed, it's a whole different story. Twelve holes, all ranging in size are placed on the part of his body where the ribs shield the lungs. Eight can be seen from the front, and the other four can be seen if he is looked at from the back. Inside him, bronchi have wrapped around his internal organs and ribs, but pose no threat to the other organs. Also, a functioning third lung the size of a man's fist has appeared below his spleen.

The modified lungs allow him to breathe in just about every environment, no matter how hostile. This includes acid, water, lave, just about any liquid
