"Have you ever heard the expression, Never trust a fae? We, probably, have every bit to do with that particular legend.."
Secundus Faeries, that's what they call themselves. They have other names, of course, such as "Evil, Deceiver, Trickster, Malicious, Cruel, Cunning, Depraved, Insidious" to name a few. All are technically correct, but none really encompass why this particular species of fae has given the entire race such stereotypes. They are known for weaving elegant plans to the ruination of a subject of interest; be it socially, physically, mentally, emotionally, or a combination of them all. Some are very open about their malice, while others seek to prove they aren't all so terrible. And then, there's Nieadea.
She is no exception to the general ruling about her species, but she does break the mold against the select few of her species still existing in this realm; she's not the least bit shy to use her power for far more than simply tricking people into embarrassing situations. Secundus Fae have a few traits that mark them as decidedly different from the usual pixies one may encounter in the world, they each have two pairs of wings, and they each possess a masterful and inborn control over Flesh-Magic. Their species does not procreate as most do, despite the fact that they do possess sexual organs. They actually turn others into more of their kind, should they prove they are of the right mind to become a Secundus. She is no different in these traits, except that she's never made a partner in her species.. she only uses her supernatural power for her own gain. Even 'gifts' given 'freely', come with a price, even if one is never spoken or agreed upon. She, constantly, keeps her fingers crossed, and will promise anything to her chosen prey to lure them into a false sense of security when she's around. She's even been known to make 'friends' with a treat, sometimes lasting for years at a time before she either gets bored, or the time to strike presents itself.
While her magic is powerful, it does have a few limitations that prevent her kind from simply overwhelming every other species they happen across. In order for her to work her most powerful magic, a manner of consent must be given. This doesn't mean it must be spoken, for often it isn't, this simply means that whomever her target is must willing give themselves (Or a part of) to her, willingly. Or, they must trust her explicitly. If either of these requirements are met, the prey becomes in grave danger of her deciding they might make a good snack. The size of her prey is irrelevant, for her magic allows her to ensure anything that enters her body.. Fits. Literally, anything she happens to desire to consume or shove into a part of herself, will fit. To make matters worse, her digestive tract works in overdrive, dissolving and assimilating any meal she happens to consume sometimes within mere minutes. In example, your normal sized human takes approximately five minutes to be fully digested, leaving her free to seek out ever more victims. As such, her metabolism also works incredibly fast, allowing her to heal rapidly and seem to never look vastly different (Unless she literally just got done eating something) than she always does. Devouring a would-be predator is her particular specialty, for her mind is crafty, and she delights in tricking the "apex" species and showing them why the proverbial "bigger fish", is actually about six inches tall.
Her magic is unlike traditional magic, it isn't focused on elements or arcane symbols in the least. It's inherent to her species, a thing they wield by instinct rather than education. And it gets stronger the longer they live, and considering she's been around since at least the 1600's, it's no doubt that her magic is every bit as powerful as that of a fully trained Arch-Mage. She's bested wizards, sorcerers, even dragonkin who thought themselves the epitome of magical prowess; foiling their spells by simply twisting it back in on itself as well as having it backfire upon the spellcaster. It's not wise to engage in a magical duel with any of her kind, for their trickery knows no bounds; even when faced with potentially lethal circumstances. They live on the razor's edge, and she is no exception.
For the Curious:
If you wonder what it's like to be devoured by someone who's literally six inches tall, the best thing to do is to experience it for yourself. It happens quickly, usually within one or two posts, and it's over the moment she hocks up your inanimate inventory. Once inside of her, there is no escape, and the experience is excrutiatingly painful once her acids begin dissolving your flesh. Thankfully, most simply pass out due to the overwhelming shock to their sensibilities as well as nervous systems, but occassionally, some struggle until the life leaves their bodies for good. She, of course, can control how painful the digestion process is, for her magic extends to far beyond manipulating just her body; anyone she touches can also be affected. As mentioned before though, her most powerful magics only work on the willing, but that doesn't mean she can't trick certain parts of your body into feeling phantom caresses or pinpricks.
