Description:

Nosoth is a 'Deep-Sea Naga', or a Naga that makes his home in the deepest parts of the oceans. His upper body, though very humanoid looking, still retains a rather beastial appearance to it. His shoulders are broad and are fine ends to his muscular chest, which is covered in a fine layer of tough scales. His back is graced with a long, fin which goes the length of his body. His face is handsome and youthful, though his mouth is filled with multiple layers of shark-like fangs, which serve little more than to keep his prey trapped inside his maw as he swallows them whole. On top of his handsome head, in place of hair he has multiple 'head tentacles', which run down his back like a long mane of hair. Each tentacle is covered in rusted, golden rings, ceremonial decorations for his species.

His arms, like most of his body are thick and muscular, capable of carrying a good 50 times the amount an average human would be able to carry. Like his head tentacles, he has a number of rusted golden rings held tight around his thick muscular arms.

His lower body, resembles more of an eel than anything else, a long, tail makes up his lower half rather than legs. His reproductive organs are kept inside of a hidden sheath beneath his scales near the point where his humanoid form ends and where his serpentine form begins.

His body is graced with a pair of stomachs, the first is for carrying and digesting food and prey, while the other behaves more like a pouch on a marsupial, used for carrying young and other things. The reason why his species evolved to have this secondary "stomach" is because Deep-Sea Naga young tend to be prime targets for creatures like sharks and even some predatory whales.

Nosoth, like the rest of his species is graced with the breathing network of a lungfish, while he is capable of staying under water idefinitely, he's able to come up onto land for 48 hours or more, which helps greatly in his search for food. When he needs to refuel for water, he is able to can even use fresh water, from say a lake, pond or swamp.

He's a gentle soul overall, and while he doesn't exactly enjoy devouring people, he does so to keep himself alive, wishing no ill will on anyone.

Nosoth's Biography:


As most, if not all Deep-Sea Naga, Nosoth was born in an incredibly large nest, which lined the walls of an undersea trench. Among him were thousands upon thousands of other eggs, which when hatched the mother and father of each immediately come for their young, scooping them up into their carrying stomach. For the first 2 years of his life, Nosoth spent his time within his mother's body, growing into a juvenile in safety.

Upon his release from this pouch, he discovered that he had been born into the Warrior Caste of the Ironfin Naga Tribe. And so, for the next 10 years he spent the entirety of his time training and preparing for one of the inevitable conflicts that would eventually spring up between two tribes of his kind and set the seafloor ablaze with war and conflict.

And indeed, this conflict came, their enemy became the neighboring tribe of Bloodmaw. The reason for this war was the usual conflict over prime nesting grounds and food sources.

Though the Ironfin won this war, Nosoth was given new orders. Once every 100 years, a Deep-Sea Naga his age is chosen to go out and leave his native nesting grounds and venture out to locate another female of his, or any other fertile, species and mate with them, to begin a new tribe and thus, spread the DNA and genetic traits of his kind across the world. The process for choosing the 'Emissary' as they refer to him, is observing significant achievements on the battlefield ((Or in whatever other Caste they have been born into)), though the exact criteria that the nominee must fulfill are known only to the Elder Caste.

Even so, Nosoth's display of talent and skill in combat and strategic thinking was to be the deciding factor in why he was chosen, and so, he was sent out into the world.

Eventually, after making his way to the mainland and discovering a river he could travel down, he came to a swamp, only to discover that near this swamp was a population center. He is meeting many kind people and beginning to integrate himself into their community, despite how rare and unusual his kind is, he has found general acceptance amongst the populace. He's finally left the safety of the swamp and has covertly exerted dominance as the top predator at the bottom level of the lake, mostly since his only competition were the non-sentient fishes that lived there first.

Racial Abilities

Paralyze: Nosoth, like the rest of his species secretes a powerful toxin through tiny holes in his teeth from glands in their skull. When a Deep-Sea Naga bites down, or even grazes prey, the fast acting toxin finds it's way into the victim's bloodstream and almost immediately paralyzes it. This allows a Deep-Sea Naga to devour prey with ease.

Regeneration: Due to their war-like nature, Deep-Sea Naga have developed the ability to regenerate lost limbs or their tail should they lose it. Though regeneration requires a large amount of energy to do, once achieved it happens almost immediately coming out of the still bleeding wound where the last limb was.

Bioluminesence: Like many creatures that live at the ocean's floor, the Naga have developed a form of Bioluminesence. This means that a section of the Naga's body glows through a chemical reaction and allows them to either see in the dark, or lure overly curious prey to them. In the case of Nosoth and the Deep-Sea Naga this would be their long fins, and their eyes, the eyes allow them to navigate in the dark, while the fins lure prey to them.

Increased Strength: His species, though not necessarily larger than a human, is in fact stronger, roughly 10 times stronger to be specific.

Unhingable Jaw: As the name of the ability suggests, the Deep-Sea Naga has the ability to unhinge it's jaw, much like a snake can to swallow larger prey. That, combined with very thick and stretchy skin, means it can swallow food at least it's size if not larger.

Non-Lethal Feeding: Evolved during times of food shortage or war, the Deep-Sea Naga has developed the ability to eat another creature without killing or digesting the creature if they so choose. After swallowing the prey, the Naga has the power to control where it goes, into it's main stomach or the 'Carrying Pouch'. If the prey enters the stomach, they are digested like any other food. But, if the prey goes into the Carrying Pouch they can stay alive for many days, even weeks on end, in a symbiotic relationship with the Naga. This means that the Naga takes nutrients from the prey, and at the same time provides the prey with nutrients that have been stored in the body previously. When the Naga thinks the time is right, they can choose to either release the creature via their mouth, or move them into the digesting stomach.

Armament

Leviathan's Fang: Two months before Nosoth's hatching, the world was in terrible peril. A twisted and mad sorcerer had resurrected the mighty Leviathan, a beast of immense size and unimaginable power. The Leviathan immediately broke free from it's summoner, killed him and began on a seemingly unstoppable rampage. In this hour of darkness, all the kingdoms, nations and races of this world were joined as one, with a single goal, to stop this monster and end it's reign of terror. Ultimately though, it would be a Ssisith, or Deep-Sea Naga by the name of Nosoth Ironfin, who would stop it. Nosoth, even though he was a mighty warrior, with a large clutch of offspring on the way, sacrificed himself to destroy the beast, and ultimately, saved the world. When the current Nosoth Ironfin was born, he was given this name to honor his heroic father.

When Nosoth II turned 12, he was given a very special weapon, the Leviathan's Fang, made from the teeth of the very beast his father gave his life to kill. It is a polearm, a halberd of sorts. On the end of a finely carved piece of coral, is the long, curved tooth, at least 3 feet long itself, with the pole being nearly 5 feet long. One side of the tooth is serated, forming a vicious blade and ends in a deadly looking point. It is covered in Deep-Sea Naga ceremonial war paint, mostly made from the blood of vanquished enemies. Though this is unproven, it is said that this tooth holds the power of the Leviathan itself, a power so strong, it can even pierce a God.
