Ruth Noteageismus has come unstuck in time. Not in the fun way where they can move back and forth across their own personal timeline at will, either. No, it’s more of a…well listen. See once upon a time Ruth, or as they prefer to go by, Note, was the coolest cat in town. Or at least they liked to think of themselves as such. A singer by trade and training, they were the next big thing. All the clubs and speakeasies wanted them and the band to make things swing and Note? Well Note was happy to oblige. While the others might have had dreams of making it big for Note it was all about the jazz, that rhythm and rhyme where the sound hit just right. They weren’t chasing the next big thing, they were trying to find perfection in the music.

And one day, to their great terror, they found it. While practicing, really fooling around more than anything, they happened upon the True Jazz. The Invocation of the Duke. That hidden piece of sound that would drive Duke Ellington to greatness sent Note on wild trip into the timestream. Gone were the lights and sounds of their home time, replaced by the eerily quiet and easy to breathe air of the distant past. Hundreds of years in the past, Note now has to figure out how to survive in a time period that’s never even heard of a saxophone.
