The luminescent deep sea naga, or as more commonly known, the Luminaire, was a naga that dwelled deep under the sea or at the bottom of only the very deepest lakes, extremely reclusive and normally only coming up when it could not find suitable prey or mates in it's natural habitat. This naga subsisted primarily on marine life, fish usually, but it's favorite prey was the mermaid. Possessed of a natural bio luminescence along it's skin, in it's eyes, and along it's tail, the mild glow would lure unwary mermaids, or even Sirens, down where the naga waited patiently, able to breathe underwater. Capable of emitting an electrical charge, this naga would electrocute it's prey, paralyzing them temporarily before it wrapped them and began to emit a steady charge from it's tail to numb and shut down all of the nerves of it's prey, before gaping it's maw, giving the prey a good look at it's insides which as well had the same bioluminescent blue glow before it would devour them.

Culturally, the Luminaire is very communal. Unlike the rest of the naga species on Lerua, a Luminaire will not eat another Luminaire, though other naga, particularly any land variety, would be preyed upon if the opportunity arrived. In addition to this, if a Luminaire has already eaten, even if not full, it will bring prey to other Luminaire, or even other species sometimes if they are careful not to startle or hurt the Luminaire.

Luminaire for the most part do not have a spoken language, though Noxiss has learned, and instead communicate with a series of cries made in the water, or by expression. Some Luminaire like to make carvings or pictures in deep undersea caves. The cries they make are very simple, and are usually for things such as alerting others of danger, calling for help when one is hurt, notifying other Luminaire of nearby prey, or simpler things like expressing loneliness or seeking a mate.
