Something strange happened to this woman. Where others attacked by the Marker-driven Necromorphs become mindless killing machines, Nu has retained all her cognitive functions, save her memories from before her transformation, which are completely lost to her.

Nu isn't even her real name. When Titan's Sprawl Security found her, she was wandering aimlessly about the halls, completely ignored by the monstrosities that tore anyone else apart without reservation. At great cost in lives, she was apprehended into EarthGov custody for study and experimentation, where she was given the designation Nu 001. It was found that at least some of the reason for her incomplete transformation was a Marker shard embedded in her chest. It remains unknown how it got there.

At some point, the Church of Unitology caught wind of a human Necromorph, and she was soon surreptitiously acquired by the Church, hailed as some manner of saint or messiah. This is also where she got her modified Unitologist hoodie skirt, which she wears to hide some of the tendrils emerging from her body, along with a powerful 'Evangelizer' Carbine/Shotgun for personal protection. Not a particularly devout Unitologist herself, Nu threw the zealots a bone by transforming willing subjects into Necromorphs, giving them their precious Convergence.

When she walks about, Nu is usually flanked by four "Stalkers," a fairly-intelligent monster by Necromorph standards, whom she uses as guard dogs. If you can ignore the walking sacks of flesh, muscle, and bone that protect her, you might find Nu is a fairly nice person, if rather eccentric.
