tl;dr: Nyt's the eldest daughter of a nobleman, though you wouldn't be able to tell her status by looking at her; she has no regard for her station. Defiant, audacious, crude, Nyt is nobody's idea of a perfect wife. Because of this, she's brought great shame to her family and has thusly been all but banished from their ranks. She's lost her birthright and her younger sister is to take her place, much to both Nyt and her family's relief. Truth be told, Nyt has little interest in keeping the company of other nobles; they were always so stiff and stuffy.
Nyt didn't want to be behelden to anyone and so she made it her goal to ruin every meeting for a would-be suitor without any care for what it might do to her family's reputation. After many failed meetings that typically had noblemen's sons storming away from her, after thoroughly tarnishing her family's name, they had no choice but to give into her demands as it was clear she had no intention of bending to their will and behaving long enough to be married off to someone.
Now she's generally free to do as she wishes, dress as she wishes, eat how she wishes and Nyt wouldn't change a damn thing.
