The world is wrong, most people just don't know it.

It is not a question of where or how the world is incorrect, but rather a question of when. Throughout history, time and time again, there have been those that have dared to fiddle with the flow of time itself. This can have any number of particularly unpleasant side-effects for reality as a whole. The creation of 'split' futures and alternative realities, attracting the attention of beings far beyond mortal comprehension, so on and so forth. The list goes on, none of it particularly pleasant.

Enter the Retrocausalistic Order, an organization of adventurers dedicated to policing and protecting the proper flow of time. So named because they are functionally an effect that has occurred before it's cause. The Order's Time Wardens find disruptions in the fabric of history, upon which one of the Order's Chronodivers delves into history to go back and 'correct' the issue, be it by slaying a wizard, recovering an artifact, or otherwise containing the issue, using a combination of magic and technology to overwhelm those of the past.

Ophelia Xenakis is one of the Order's youngest and most promising Chronodivers. Literally born into her role, she is the daughter of a skilled Time Warden and an accomplished Chronodiver. Hextek was utilized heavily in her upbringing to help mold her into an ideal Chronodiver, parts of her life-span have been carefully accelerated or retarded to give her more formulative time to learn her skills and develop mind and body. The unexpected result is that Ophelia herself has become mildly disjointed within time and has come to rely upon a variety of Hextek gadgets to keep herself from disappearing from reality entirely.

Young and in her prime, Ophelia is wickedly intelligent and superior of body to match. Her combat record is almost flawless and she wields her weapon, Uhrzhanrad, as an extension of her body. Capable of increasing her speed relative to those around her, or making short-distant hops into the very recent past, Ophelia is a dedicated and deadly temporal assassin.

She is also a very arrogant one. She looks down upon those of the past as 'primitives' and cares very little how her actions fully impact their lives, focusing instead upon the much larger picture of what her actions mean for reality itself. Ophelia, after all, has both her orders and a grand destiny, thus cares not one whit for the anonymous faces of the past that have faded into obscurity in her wake.

Of course, the things that live in the past may not be as advanced as she... but that doesn't mean that they are not deadly...
