Orchidea

The vengeful product of magic and nature's wrath, Orchidea is a living embodiment of the forests' primal fury.

Years ago, the people of the Xi'Ji Empire were part of a rich and prosperous society. The Empire grew quickly, its population and the needs accompanying it rising fast just as well. Soon, housing started becoming a problem, and expansion of the current settlements became a priority for the Empress. By her order, the empire's vast woods were to gradually be cut down in order to gather material and free up space for new buildings.
This seemed to solve the problem for the people, until one day the woodcutters reached a dark forest, a heavy, eerie twilight hanging in the air even at midday. As the first man's axe attempted a strike, it was quickly grabbed by the tree that was to be cut, a thick branch lashing out at him. Others tried the same as well, but to no avail. The enchanted woods would not permit to be cut down, for that glade was the home of a powerful spirit of nature.
Unwilling to give up on the preciously scarce material that lumber had become, the Empress personally led a battalion of northern barbarians to cut down he forest with force, her own workers not daring to set near it.
It was successful at first. The trees resisted, but were not able to do much against the hulking northmen. The spirit in the woods stirred alarmed, but could not do anything, its powers restrained by the Empress' wizards. In the end, in a desperate attempt to save the glade, the spirit unleashed all of nature's fury within itself, forgoing any care and mercy. Suddenly, the trees twisted and groaned, the flowers and grass flailed as in pulled by a great wave, and all the animals fled the forest in a rush. Then there was an explosion of light and darkness, blinding and deafening everyone in the vicinity. When the Empress and her soldiers came to, the forest was gone, no tree or bird, no stone or creek left. Only a single black orchid stood where the center of the glade once was, poking from the ground with an alluring, dark beauty.
The Empress was furious. Not only had nature taken away all the wood her people needed, but it even mocked her with a flower! Shouting and screaming, she ran to the orchid, trying to crush it under her foot. The moment she reached the flower, however, vines and roots erupted from the ground, trapping her. A moment after, an enormous violet flower bud engulfed her from all sides. Her soldiers watched in awe and horror as their ruler disappeared behind the giant leaves and quickly rushed to cut it down. They swung with their axes, kicked and roared, but the huge bud would not give in.
Hours passed, and eventually the men gave up. Just as they turned to leave in mourning for their Empress, the leaves spread open, revealing her inside. Her armor was gone, replaced by vines and leaves, an enormous black orchid flower covering her chest. Her hair had grown below had waist and had taken a dark purple color, and her eyes had taken a reptilian appearance, her gaze filled with rage and loathing. She let out a loud, feral scream, and hundreds of vines, roots and branches erupted from the earth beneath her, tearing the warriors apart, crushing them or pulling them inside the huge bud.
As the massacre settled, the woman's mind settled. But that was no longer the mind of the Empress, but that of the nature's spirit, filled with anguish and hatred for the humans that destroyed her home. Left with no purpose to stay, she began to wander, going from forest to forest, glade to glade, trying to find a new place to claim for her own, as well as protect all the world's woods from the destructive touch of mankind.

Personality:
Orchidea is often brooding and alone, unwilling to make contact with other people and preferring the company of her flowers. She has a particular hatred towards humans, and is prone to being most cruel towards them. She might not try to attack them outright, but a particularly careful approach is advised. She will tolerate any being that even vaguely differs from a human, and will generally be more friendly to children.

Orchidea can be vengeful towards enemies, sometimes unable to control her anger if engaged, but would be kinder to those who prove to be friends. Few have proven worthy of her friendship, but they enjoy both her care and protection, as well as that of the forests.

Those who go against her would usually end up in rather ugly ways, such as being torn by thorny vines, crushed inside tree bark, or being consumed, either directly or by being absorbed in her flower, a titanic black orchid that closes around and digests any unfortunate soul within. Others might go as food to her carnivorous flowers, of which he has a special selection for every purpose. She has also been known to use the fauna towards her ends as well, ranging from the smallest poisonous bugs to the most ferocious beasts. To those who truly defy her, though, she reserves a special fate: turning them into a unique flower of their own and adding to her beautiful garden to be trapped for all eternity.

Abilities:

Orchid has a deft control of nature's powers, ranging from plant control, to manipulating the the weather around her and commanding animals, albeit with limits. She can, if necessary, summon gales and lightning bolts to fight from a distance, or cover herself in tough bark to withstand damage.

Her physical body is that of the empress she possessed all those years ago, though it has been re-purposed. If destroyed, her spirit would flee to her orchid to recreate the same corporeal shell. The orchid is her strength and weakness, for if destroyed, her soul would have no ways to take on a new body, nor will she be able to use her powers. Additionally, if her soul is prevented to return to the orchid, she will not be able to materialize again as well.

She has limited transformation powers, allowing her to personally merge with any large-sized plant, cause others to do so and turn them into flowers. She can also use special flower spores to reduce her size or that of others, though cannot increase it.

Orchid is also capable of quickly moving large distances by merging with the roots of plants beneath her and traveling across them.

Other Notes:

I will tend to stay in character most of the time.

I cannot stress this enough: Just because the character is being negative does not mean that the player is against it. If you are wondering if I am actually trying to stop you from taking an action, ask me OOC-ly and I will tell you, but I am generally fine with 95% of the things others do!

Please, if you decide to approach in whisper, do not do it IC-ly. That's really a bad way to start. Ask like a normal person. Also, if I deny you, I'm likely busy with something else, or generally don't like your character. Sorry, we all have tastes. In the event that I don't answer alone, I must be too busy to notice at all, but that happens rarely.

Flowers at her disposal include, but are not limited to:

She can also create her own kinds of flowers, ones that do not exist otherwise.
