Phillipe and Mynx, human and summon. Just what are these two truly? Why are they in the nexus? What sets them apart from the traditional denizens?

well, to begin, Phillipe is the last line in a long line of incredibly powerful mages and wizards. Each predecessor before him was known for doing something incredible, deafeating some evil, capturing a powerful demon, even retriving a rare and thought to be false relic. Phillipe has done.... nothing. Granted, all those stories he was told as a toddler certainly made him think there was an expectation to live up to, despite the fact he eas already highly proficent in the many spells and wards he was capable of casting even at eight. He still sought to better himself much to his parents joy, and, concern. His line had a natural affinity to the magics of the world, dark or otherwise, but they didnt hold as much determination as their son held. As a result of this determination he often went on to try and find other tomes and ancient magics in ruins and dungeons, the difference however between him and his predeccesors was about twice his height, width, and even weight. Many times he narrowly avoided his own demise, but not without a few cuts and bruises here and there. This sort of danger terrified his mother and father, given that they hadnt done something like that themselves. So, eith good intentions at heart, Phillipe's father passed on a gift, that of the shadow creature, Mynx.

Mynx is a being of unknown abikity, power, and general integrity. However, milenia ago, a great ancestor of Phillipe had managed something almost as daring as Phillipe's dungeon delving. His great great great Grandfather opened a portal to a place he dubbed 'The Shadows.' within this place was a creature, waiting, watching, and soon arriving before this mage. A voluptuous, and rather tall being, she was thought a succubus at first given her features. Looking closer however revealed she was no such being. She had been freed from this man, and in thanks, bound herself to him. Since then, every firstborn would be entitled to this great creature, and every child managed to catch the creature's heart. Phillipe however, she will admit, is her favorite. Mainly because of just how he always asked about her, where did she come from? what could she do? It made for a silly game in a sense, where shed respond coyly to his questions, making the answers seem almost false. This mustve been intentional, as she was inprisoned in that dreaded realm for so long her being, her very mind, was warped to match that horrid prison. While its uncertain what she is, a mage's best friend is certainly a description. She herself is more than capable of her own set of magic, but when paired with a mage, she somehow amplifies the spell if both are using it in tandum. Furthermore, her frame seems to give off an incredible amount of mana, allowing those she bunds herself to near limitless magical energy. She need only rest, or eat, to rejuvinate it.

Since that fateful day, phillipe has managed to find his way into more and more dungeons safely, managing to hone his spells and doscover some abilities of his dear companion. like the fact she actually had a mouth on that shadowed face. Hes seen it devour the undead whole, a scary idea, but, somewhat intruiging to him.

in this same dungeon however, he found no tomes. instead, he found an odd rune, one that glowed as he grew closer. upon touching it, both he and Mynx were pulled into a portal. despite her efforts to pull him away, both ended up sent straight to the nexus. Now, they wander this new land in search of some way to get back, no matter the cost. at least for him, Mynx keeps him from selling his soul.

Also, Mynx has the ability to steal attributes of those she devoures, these will be listed here as she devours the denizens of Nexus.
