The creatures known as Pokemon can be found worldwide, in various shapes,sizes and types. These mystical and fascinating creatures have spurred people to beome become breeders, trainers and some study Pokemon as a profession, to get a better understanding of them.

The country known as, Arlay is a beautiful place as well as mysterious with the Pokemon that reside here, living with people, helping with everyday lives and most of all, offering companionship to those fortunate enough to bring Pokemon into thier lives.

Now we head north along the mysterious mountain that cuts the country into two halves, a mountain said to exude a mysterious and wonderful vibe and is supposedly home to a legendary Pokemon of some sort but that's just an old legend that some people spoke of in the country.

At the northern end of the mountain was North Arlay, a colder part of the country buffeted by blizzards coming off the mountain every so often, forcing many of the people that resided in its shadow to remain indoors should that happen. One of the cities in this part of Arlay was Lavista Peak.

It was a quiet city that didn't have much happening there and pretty much or less saw snow throughout the winter, only warming up decently doing the spring and summer seasons. The girl known as Valerie "Val" Sylver was born in this city and despite it being cold this particular winter, this didn't stop her from putting on her, mittens, gloves, parka, grabbing her camera and heading outside. The young girl explored, observing the various specie of Pokemon that she saw around the city, becoming fascinated by the variety of them. In a way, one could assume that her love for Pokemon began here in Lavista Peak.

Valerie's wonderment even led her to sneak out of the city. While out in the snowfields around the city, she explored and played around in the snow, there was something about the snow and cold that the young girl loved. Why, every so often when she snuck out of the city and into the Lavista Snowfield, a few passerbys could see her playing in the snow, laughing with glee as she played with the smaller Pokemon. Valerie even took pictures of the Pokemon and herself in various fun activities, storing the pictures in a scrapbook in her room back at her house.

On one of her outings to the Lavista Snowfield, she was in for a surprise. Valerie would have encountered a lone Piplup atop a rock, it seemed to be wild but the strange thing was, it seemed to be waiting for someone. Seeing as this was the perfect opportunity to catch her first Pokemon, reached into her bag that she had on her and pulled out a Pokeball. The young girl then lobbed the ball at the Piplup but to her shock, it just slapped the ball back at her with a flipper and turned its back to Valerie. Seems as if it didn't want to be caught and Valerie didn't know why but what was certain was that she was disheartened as she returned to town but as she did, encountered the trainer of the Piplup that she saw on the rock out in the snowfield.

Out of sight of the young man, she'd eavesdrop on the conversation that he had with a few of his friends. Turns out that he told the Piplup to remain on that rock and he'd be back soon. But the shocking truth angered Valerie, it also turns out that he left his Piplup there as he found it weak and didn't like weak Pokemon on his team. Valerie then approached the young man and belited him then implored him to go back and get his Piplup which he so coldly left behind but of course, her plea was answered by unconcern, the young man then shoved Valerie aside and walked away. Needless to say that she was upset when she went home. Later that that, the area was buffeted by a blizzard and this one looked pretty bad, one thing came to Valerie's mind in bed that night, unable to get to sleep due to the howling winds and that was the Piplup out in the snowfield. If she didn't go out there, it'd freeze and she couldn't let that happen!

She'd sneak out once again, enduring the harshness of the blizzard as she made her way out of the city, into the snowfield and to that rock. To her relief, the Piplup was okay, though it was shivering and in need of immediate warmth. Valerie picked up the little Pokemon and made her way home as fast as possible. Back at her house, she set the little Piplup in front of a fire to provide it warm, even going as far by laying in front of the fireplace with the Piplup held close to her warm chest and falling asleep with it. Needless to say, her actions had saved it and in return had gained a friend and partner.

Several years later, Valerie's family would have moved to the Nexus, a region far from Arlay. At first, she was reluctant to move but eventually agreed after learning that she'd be able to learn more about Pokemon and that many specie of Pokemon that weren't native to Arlay were over there. After enrolling at the Nexus High School to learn more about Pokemon, she met her friend Ellena_, who she occasionally has battles with. Though, most of the time she loses! Valerie can be found in her dorm room, studying diligently about the creatures that had filled her with so much fascination and wonderment back in Arlay. When she isn't in her dorm, she can be found out in the forest or wherever there's Pokemon, observing them and taking photos of them.

Personality
Studious, fun loving, kind, innocent and most of all, loving. These are all the words that can describe the young Pokemon trainer who aspires to be the best and the most loving trainer possible. The girl is quite sensitive meaning that she'll cry if she loses a battle, seeing a Pokemon badly injured or if she simply is unable to find one of her beloved Pokemon. Those not accustomed to Valerie's sensitivity may label her as a crybaby but Ellena is quite used to the young girl crying. ((As she does lose to Ellena every so often.)) Though, Valerie can be consoled and will stop crying after a bit. Valerie is protective of her Pokemon, a little overprotective. To her, they are her invaluable, life long partners that need to be protected as much as possible. Though, her Pokemon don't seem to mind the girl being overprotective towards them. When she isn't in her dorm room with Ellena, studying or having fun with a various game of some sort. The girl can be found in the forest, observing and taking pictures of the many specie of Pokemon. The girl is a sucker for cute things. Things such as cute Pokemon, people or creatures just melts her heart and she can't help but to snuggle them close, showering them in love. Basically, showing affection to anything cute!

This is Valerie's first Pokemon and after the girl saved her from being frozen solid atop that rock in Lavista Snowfield. Has been fiercely loyal to the girl. Trying her best to prevail in battles and becoming down should she lose. She has a very proud nature and a bit of a short temper. Meaning that it won't take much to anger her and should someone anger her then she be forced to do something that she really doesn't want to do-punish the one that angered her, in her own way. Such ways include her sitting on someone, smushing them. ((Preferably a smaller Pokemon, under her weight.)) To teach them a lesson. If she gets really mad then she may get into a verbal dispute with the one that made her so, this may escalate to her sending the one that angered her to her belly! To teach them a lesson.

This was the next Pokemon Valerie caught, encountered in the Nexus Forest. The gaseous Pokemon tailed after the girl, pranking her as she traveled through the forest, observing and taking photo's of the various Pokemon. The Gastly made this hard however by messing up several shots by appearing in front of Valerie's camera and as a result, causing her to miss out on taking a photo of said Pokemon! Stealing Pokemon food out of her bag and the snacks that she had on her. ((Needless to say, this left Valerie quite annoyed.)) Unable to tolerate the ghost's mishievous antics. She challenged it to a battle and after weaking it enough, lobbed a Poke Ball at the Gaseous Pokemon, successfully capturing her second Pokemon! Vapor is quite a mischievous litte ghost! He ocassionally pranks other Pokemon around him as well as others. Though, this gets him into trouble. He can usually get out of trouble by feigning sadness as if he feels bad for what he had done.

While looking out the window at her dorm that faced the Nexus Forest on a stormy night. A bolt of lightning split the sky, striking the forest and shortly after. A plume of smoke rose into the inky black sky and shortly after, a reddish-glow could be seen from the forest, a fire had started! Worried about the Pokemon and the forest. Tossed on her rain jacket, braved the storm and made her way into the deep, dark woods. Shortly after, whinning filled her ears, the sound of a baby Pokemon! After searching the forest carefully for the Pokemon, it was discovered that it was within the hole of a burning tree, it had hatched from the heat of the fire but now its life was in great jeopardy! Seeing this, Valerie climbed the tree and rescued the little Pachirisu from the burning tree just before the flames engulfed it. This little electric type is certainly very cheeky, often annoying others like Pia with her mischivous and often annoying antics. Needless to say, her cheekiness often leads her into trouble.
