Pteris will be the first to tell you that he's not particularly exceptional. Ok, sure, he's a dryad, but past that he's a fairly normal guy. Just because he has ferns for hair and a tendancy to drink water by pouring it over his head doesn't mean he isn't perfectly happy to hang around and make small talk the same as any other sapient being. Honestly, the judgemental nature of some people...
Despite his age (he took this name from what the Greeks called him the day he set foot on their soil), Pteris is fairly laid-back and casual. There's not much that appeals to him more than having a lively conversation over a beer, and while he might be a bit awkward at times it's never in ill intent.
While his height is variable to a great degree, Pteris prefers to stand around 5'10" (178 cm). It's a good, neutral height, giving his conversation partners a clear look into his mint-green eyes - that is, when they aren't obscured by a passing breeze blowing his shoulder-length fern-hair into his face. His skin could be called an earthy sort of tan. Many are surprised by how soft it is, but this is another preference. In his own words: "it's more approachable to bleed from time to time - even if what's bled is sap."
It should be noted that he is quite traditionally masculine in terms of physique. Not to the degree of absurdity, but there is a distinct air of "classical sculpture" about him. He may have modeled for one or two of the existing specimens.
OOC: I note this because a great many prey have a preference for more feminine male preds. This character is not that and, given the current lack of reference art, the player does not want to deceive anyone by accident.
In terms of clothing, Pteris prefers to keep it simple (and classic). A loincloth and cloak in Minoan style make up the standard outfit, though if one were to examine the material closely, they might notice a faint structure of veins on the ever-so-slightly green "fabric," revealing its nature as leaf-like appendages.
???
Pteris has some degree of control over plant life. In particular, he can force it to grow (or not grow) as he pleases. Some plants, like vines, can become traps and vicious snares, while the less mobile varieties of trees and bushes will suddenly find themselves able to withstand much more punishment than before.
Of note is the face that individual plants can act as "relays" to extend Pteris's range and control. This is exhausting at scale, but given the right environment and sufficient provocation, the effects can be devastating.
Pteris is very matter-of-fact about vore and his place in the food chain - namely, at the top. It's equal parts duty and pleasure for him. After all, if the resources needed to keep the cycle of ecology going need to be returned to nature eventually, why not have fun with it?
Being supernatural, he is capable of some moderate shapeshifting in order to get prey down the hatch. This usually manifests as a wider jaw and similar necessary changes. These can be elegant or grotesque, depending on his mood at the time.
