There's an old saying: If something is worth doing, it's worth doing right. If it's not worth doing, give it to Katie.
Katie Isslington wanted to be a knight ever since she could walk, but never in her wildest dreams did she imagine that she would end up being the knighthood's version of a janitor.
She's well trained, and very loyal to bringing people to justice in whatever way possible, but she often gets dumped with tasks that no other knight wished to take on. Wether it be wallowing through mile upon mile of stagnant marsh, or dealing with two bit criminals normally not worth a knight's time, Katie will be there doing her job without a single word of complaint.

*Katie's Story - A work in progress*
*Katie, the curse. That's what she was known as. She wasn't even 2 minutes old, and she had already taken a life. Her mother had passed away, overcome from child birth. Heartbroken, her father denied the child, and sent her away to an orphans home. The orphanage tried to give her a home, but no one wanted the girl. Foolish paranoia about whether she really was a curse or not seemed to dog her. And so she grew up, seeing those she befriended all find homes while she always returned to an increasingly empty sleeping room.
Though she doesn't like to speak much of how she rose to be where she is now, it was a series of chance meetings that brought her into a chapter of knights...as a stable boy. Eventually she was given her chance to make an impression, and she began to take on any assignment she could, no matter how harsh or vile.
Though she puts on a tough exterior, Katie is a very introverted person. She spends much of her time alone still in contemplation of many things.
Now though, something's happened that has changed her life in ways she could never have imagined. Her dream of being trained as a paladina have been realized, as Lady Charity Cormack has taken her in as her squire... and her adopted daughter. She's still trying to come to terms with the happiness she's found, and will do anything for Charity.
A new chapter has been written in Katie's life, and in retrospect she now understand the term everything happens for a reason. Katie lied to Charity, and was punished harshly. She was worried that her mentor would turn away from her for her transgression, but instead, after a long talk and a fencing duel that Charity completely dominated, the paladina has chosen to adopt Katie. Not just as her squire anymore, but as her own daughter. Katie Isslington is no more, in her place, stands happily, and proud to bear her mothers name, Katie Cormack.
